And I said take the emotion of what he has been through out of it
My name sake was a great player because he put the club first
Harmes went across Trevor’s knee in a practice match
In 1980
In 1981 he still managed to help our reserves instructing younger players
Same in 1982
Same age as Docherty now
Talk to those players from that era and everyone of them will tell you that not being about you attitudes was the reason for our success
You missed the point completely
Anyway I hope Wilson will get 4 senior games after Thursday
We all have a used by date
As for Charlie if we got a really good deal done I’m all for a trade
You judge a guy on how those that know him, talk about him. Find one person in the AFL or life, who has met Doc, who would speak ill of him?
12 years at a club and gave his all. John Nicholls medal winner, AA. And you don't want to show any emotion.

Why? AFL is all emotion for supporters. Why do you think TC is feral after every loss and even some wins?
Your argument is disappointing. How do you know what Doc does/did at the club during his rehab for injuries and Cancer? How do you know who he has inspired whilst he rehabbed with so many kids coming through.
https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/18382 ... ble-career"Doingitfordoc" raised $219,000 for the Peter Mac Cancer Foundation.
As though that wasn’t enough, Docherty also stepped up to be an Observer to the Board of the Peter Mac Foundation and has been committed to doing all he can since to raising much-needed funds towards cancer research.
In a testament to the impact he has made, Docherty has been instrumental in fundraising for the Peter Mac Cup - played annually between Carlton I try to understand your point of view on occasion, but times like this, I just shake my head and wonder why you would try to bring down such a wonderful human being.
If you ever met him, you would never dream of posting as you have.

I keep coming back to the main point which is the club is bigger than any individual
Docherty has been a great ambassador for fighting cancer research
He has a very good tactical brain when it comes to footy
In the main he has been a great asset and example to many people
But I could say that about many people I know personally
Or from other role models in the arts sport even some politicians
But in the end there is to a degree a “ I also don’t give a shit”
Life begins
Life ends
As you get older you realise it ain’t that big a deal
Your ego should lesson because with maturity you realise you a just a tiny pimple on a big arse
Probably not a great analogy but it’s true
I was incredibly annoyed last year when Docherty was selected in that final
Sorry but that’s bullshit
Not even Gary Ablett senior should be selected in those circumstances
Being a good bloke shouldn’t guarantee you a selection
As I said it’s team first
That’s all I care about
Clearly with this leadership group it’s about them
I actually feel sorry for the young players who have leadership on the field or more so lack of leadership
On the field
The best part about this year has been seeing more young talent
That’s a positive despite real good leadership at the top being non existent
The fact is Cazzeman Docherty has been granted games in the last month at the expense of of Wilson’s selection
Why play him for one game and then drop him
That’s disgraceful
Watching Murphy limp to 300 then immediately retiring was disgraceful
At least with Docherty there is a harder line
To be successful in team sport sometimes you have to be a callous organisation
Because the team comes first
