I love the idea of Jack Silvagni captain. Cripps is getting tired. He's had his time. Free him up.

If his body was more reliable, I'd be all for this. Plays for the jumper, always gives 100%.

We need to get out of this mindset of "well, he's the best player, make him captain".

I keep thinking about Nick bloody Maxwell for Collingwood as an example of how that doesn't need to be the case.

Not that it helps us now, but if he keeps developing, I can see Ollie being a contender in 5+ years.

exactly. meanwhile cripps shrunk himself and hid in the grass and we barely knew he existed.

we need someone who will lead, take accountability and ask for it. no, demand it.

Seriously....

Can you blame them?

Do you know the details of the threats against him and his family? No, I didn’t think so.

There is threats to him and his family?

I’m as angry and depressed as anyone re the plight of the club but FMD there is some seriously deranged people around.

Deplorable.

To paraphrase Jerry and Elaine, people they’re the worst.

Hang on, were threats actually made to him and his family, or is this a pre-emptive action by the club?

There's a massive difference between the two.

If it's the former, then it's absolutely warranted.

If however it is the latter, to me that's another sign of the absolute contempt that the club and board have towards it's supporters and they now want to paint us as deranged criminals.

I didn't notice anything aside from being very loose on his opponent at times. Did you see anything specific? Not Tom Lynch calibre, I hope :)

JSOS played with a groin injury for most of the game, he'll be out for weeks. Showed good leadership and discipline to stay on and play through the pain and discomfort.

he's had the groin from the same match he broke his hand in. i wonder why we kept playing him when we knew he was lame?

I know the answer to this.

It's the same reason Weitering was told to play while lame, and why Cripps was told to play while sick.

It's not "next man up", it's "superman up".

So much for the " one soldier down..." netality, when we dont have depth on this list.
