simpson is a coach where the list is ready made and ready to go. not a developing of kids coach.
listening to him speak, there's not many people who know the strategic side of afl as well as him.
So you still think our list is 'ready made'.

Funny man.
age profile is more ready, than say the green shoots bolton inherited, yeah?
this same list was on the up in 2023. only coaching an archaic gameplan - further compounded by the new HTB interpretation midseason, 2024 - is the difference.
let tdk go, chase a free agent or 2 with his money, trade harry out, bring in another 2 players, re-sign jack, add jagga to the mix, send cripps forward ala dangerfield, we aren't far away, imo. things turn around really quickly with the right coaching.
Yes and no.
We have a massive gap in the middle IIRC.
I'll need to check up on that.
As for 2023, I think we all know there was flaws in the team make up, we were playing on false beliefs and we had issues then but little injuries.
Also the game hadn't evolved and team like the Hawks hadn't really capitalised on the chaos run and carry game that is more and more prevalent.
So is the game plan archaic or has the game style speed up faster than what most of our players can handle.
That piece that Cazz posted about chaos v control in the live games thread would have a lot more to do with it if I was a betting man.
When we play it they score, when the opposition play it they score.
But no matter which way you want to argue it, if players can't hit targets, drop marks and don't make space it wouldn't matter who was coaching or what structure or game plan you had.
Like I said in another post I think recruiting and the club banked on the reduction in interchanges and added endurance over speed and skill to an already slow list and here we are.
I agree with your last line, I've been saying it all year and last draft trade period.
We royally F'ed, the club overvalued the list and we traded out 2 experienced players and only brought 1 back in when we are in a supposed window.
That window is closed now, for this years and possibly next at least.
