I assume you mean running for 20m (i.e 1 bounce), Saad.

If you mean bursting from a contest and having a penetrating kick I'll say:
Saad
Williams
Boyd
Carroll
Lord
Curnow can do it
Cotts at times
and Walsh and Doc used to be able to.

The midfield and wings are pretty bare in this department.

I agree on Curnow
Reckon to an extent he is wasted as a deep forward
Never been tried in the guts

I would like to see that, IIRC I suggested that last year.
Or at minimum playing a Jeremy cameron role a bit further up ground and leaving McKay in the F50 or another tall.
But I don't think he has the ticker for that at the moment.
McLovin had some nice deliveries into F50 with his stints up forward.

Dewar stood out like Dogs balls
At least he won the NRS
A really good mover
Binns has the tank but is one paced and shi tank
Would love Voss to give Wilson a run

Your first line is spot on. We don’t move it quick enough because we don’t spread from the contest and are drilled to kick instead of handball and run. How many times do we see our players ‘ignore’ the runner and kick to a contest?
That’s coaching!

Curnow should be fit to play a quarter and match every other game he's played this year.

8 weeks ago we beat this mob on their home deck by 82 points.
We will be missing Cotrell Walsh and Elijah from that game and maybe Young

We have replaced them with Binns Cincotta and Orazio and Young or Pitto will come in.

We should not be worried about this game

And once again, your point is incorrect.
Champion Data measure speed of ball movement and Carlton were recently assessed as moving the ball second fastest in the competition.

Does blindly hoofing it as far as you can, as soon as you get it, count as fast ball movement? :D

Unfortunately I think it does.

This is a good listen from Cazz, it explains a bit on ball movement.

i just don't know how that can be. after the 1st quarter we rarely play on, rarely run, never overlap. never look into the corridor and slow the flanks to contest after contest.

we must be setting the champion data alight in the 1st qtr... bcos after that, we are pedestrian.

As long as you don't distort the facts, and make up stories, I'd say continue to trust your eyes, and share your views braithy.
Everyone has their unique take, opinion and view on the game. We visit TC and read the media to digest all the differing perspectives of the game.

Even Champion Data tell us they try and pick out stats to tell a story. Its an interpretation, and therefore their stats are open to interpretation.
Champion Data guy said in the video they are limited by the stats they have, and only those within the 4 walls of the club would know about ball movement.
They create their hypothesis based on those limited stats. Doesn't make them right and you wrong. There will always be anomalies.

Its like Coaches Votes. They are not the be all to end all. Its normal for the 2 opposing coaches have opposing views on the game. At times the bias of a coach may prevail where he gives votes to someone who doesn't rate high on stats those on the outside value, let alone the opposing coach. The player may have played a role only the coach would know, but to the eyes of the impartial viewer they wouldn't know the roles and the effectiveness of the player in that role. It depends on what you value.

Champion stats, and coaches votes, and Brownlows give everyone a different view from the same game. They aren't the be all to end all debate. Your eyes count too.

From Herald Sun today

Quote:
North Melbourne have lost five games straight to Carlton including an 82-point hiding earlier this year — but plenty of experts sense an upset brewing at the ‘G.

I reckon Cripps has a lot to prove this week.
His form in the last month was questioned on 360 by Gerard Whateley, and he acknowledged it, and said its time he "levelled up", suggesting he's got higher standards than he's showed.

Stefchook, you were right.

Crusader, you were right.

Bondiblue, you were wrong 4 weeks ago when Stefchook first suggested Cripps was down on his usual form. Goes to show I was influenced a bit by stats.

Charlie Comben will return ahead of schedule from a cracked shoulder blade. Big boost for @NMFCOfficial vs Carlton on Saturday @AFLcomau

Lemmey not even named as an emergency, clearly L Young is seen as a better replacement for Charlie than Lemmey at stage.

Comben named for North. Hopefully TDK tests him out and puts his knee through his shoulder a few times. If you play a Clarkson coached team, serve up what they'll be giving you.
TDK copped a physical work over from Xerri last year. Give them back a bit of their own medicine.

Cincotta's role will be interesting this week. He's played predominantly as a defensive forward or a defensive mid but could he go to Curtis this week? Curtis averages over 2 goals per game this year and is a gun when he's up and going. A defensive role on Daniel is another option but I'd rather see another forward like Fantasia expose his lack of accountability and pace.

Hopefully McGovern has another good game. His lead up work gives our forward line another dimension it badly needs.

Absolutely BV. I just don’t think our boys are wired or even coached in such a way. I wish they could start though.
Agree with the McGovern statement as well. Hopefully he does that again.
