I'm shitting myself because the injury list is 5 or less, if indeed Cottrell Elijah are the only two missing (plus Kemp Smith Newman).

WE haven't lost a game with less than 8 injured and we had 5 out injured against Geelong this year.

I don't think I can cope with the epic levels of bravery...

...and I'll expect the coaches to resign in disgrace.

Cottrell didn't train on Saturday, neither did Doc. Cripps had a few extra days off. Harry didn't train with main group.

Doesn't mean Cottrell isn't available. I want him in on a wing, but wouldn't be surprised if he has his first game in a while in the VFL.

Gov was the face of Carlton in pregame media commitments yesterday, so he's probably in, although I think I'd prefer Cowan or even Cincotta ahead of him. Love the idea of Chinka back tagging their distributor from HB, or Merret if he plays midfield this week.

7 at the moment (not including Elijah), most likely 5 by Sunday.
Jack, zac and Elijah would be some handy ins.
Add Flynn to the mix and maybe we will have a good shot at it.

So you'd prefer we lose? To give Hawthorn a helping hand for next year?

Win 4 in a row and anything could happen. Not to be sneezed at.

But of course, anyone who's followed this club the last 20 years and takes a 4 game winning streak for granted is a damned fool.

Beat Essendon*. Beat Port. Lose to North and West Coast. Beat Collingwood. Probably beat Brisbane. Lose to Melbourne by 90.

Etc etc

I hate us.

As mush as I dont like Gov in the team, I think he's a better footballer than Young, and his leads honoured, unlike Young's leads in the forward line.

Cripps FF and playing midfield last 10 minutes of quarters and last quarter. Lord, Binns midfield rotations

TDK and Harry/ Gov to mix it up as around the ground marking targets. Don't mind Charlie in that mix if he's not getting into game.

Gov to play Kempy's role and Harry to chop out in the ruck still gives us 2 mobile marking targets: Charlie and Gov when Cripps is in the midfield

At least one small forward stays in the 50m arc with FF.

I don't really like dropping Young for Gov, but I have given my reason. Either way I will be happy.

IN: Silvagni Boyd Williams Cincotta Cowan
OUT: O'Farrell, Young, Motlop, White, Fogarty

B: Haynes Weitering Boyd
HB: Carroll Silvagni Saad
C: Acres Walsh Hollands
Foll: TDK Hewett Cerra
HF: Cincotta Curnow McKay
F: Durdin Cripps Williams

IC: Lord Docherty Binns McGovern
S: Cowan

E: Young White Motlop

Cowan can free up Docherty to play mid/ fwd, and wouldnt mind seeing Saad and Williams involved with some CB's

B: Haynes Weitering Hollands
HB: Saad McLovin Cincotta
C: Lord Cripps Walsh
Foll: TDK Hewett Cerra
HF: Silvagni Curnow Williams
F: Durdin McKay White

IC: Doc Boyd Motlop Carroll
S: Acres/Young

E: O'Farrell/Fogarty/Flynn Y.

With Williams back and if we added the smarts of JSOS into F50, the whole forward half IQ will more than double.
If the back gets too leaky then we can just put him down back again.
Motlop to rotate midfield and F50.
Carroll to rotate defence.
Doc to rotate wing and HB.
Boyd to rotate on defence and give us some kicking penetration out of D50.
Acres can come in to either wing or HB/Young depending on height and speed profile of their final team.

Thanks CK95.

I doubt Young would be making an appearance with no 'feel' for his team mates.
But as a sub he could have an easy role ... unless there's an early injury.

One of the Emergencies Ive listed White or Motlop ... prefer White, and please no Motlop as a ball watcher in the midfield rotations. I don't think he's won a clearance in all the CBs he's attended this year.

Massive difference in the two samples (which is the problem, imo), but he’s currently winning the centre clearance at a better clip than Cripps.

Centre clearance per CBA:

Motlop 12.5%
Cripps 10.2%
—————
Hewett 13%
Cerra 14.8%
Walsh 5.1%
De Koning 7.3%

Cripps needs to move himself around a bit more.

We can’t do much about feeble ruck work, unless you drop him. Remain intact for three months, collect TEN MILLION.

I get your point, if I made it sound like White is better than Mots, I didnt mean that. I had neither in my team.

I was told last week. Motlop attended 3 CB's last game, won none, attended 3 previous week, won none, and I think the same before that game. The point was he's not that good in the midfield to warrant carrying him as a small forward. You may disagree bc his % is better than Cripps.

OK, you poked me, here's my thoughts on Motlop as the third best CB midfielder at the club.

So every 10 CBs Motlop wins 1.2. OK. implying Cripps is worse at CB's than Motlop. That's the point isnt it?

Mots has won 1 in 12 CBs with no opponent and being fresh as a daisy. OK. Fk he's amazing based on those %. Therefore he should be on more money than Cripps and Cripps should be replaced by Motlop at CB bc the numbers say so. I wonder if Motlop has even attended 20 CBs this year in total....nah, I don't need to know that. I'll leave my feel on the eye test at CBs Motlop has attended in the last month which reflects why I dont have him in my first 22.

Maybe the % does paint a clear picture for people who put all their faith in stats, but that % does not convince me that Cripps is not as good as Mots in the midfield. IMO it highlights Cripps is in the CB when he shouldn't be, when either fatigued or tagged ie doesnt share the load enough

I'm sure Motlop doesn't attend the CB when fatigued let alone have an opponent like Cripps does, and that's probably what inflates his numbers. I bet Motlops numbers since his form has been in the spotlight are far worse than Cripps.

I get your point, but lets not compare thoroughbreds in Group 1 with donkeys in the Bush.

There's a huge difference in the raw numbers when measuring actual number of times Cripps and Motlop attended, so a comparison in % doesn't give me a true picture of Motlops form in there.
More importantly, I'd back that Motlop has failed to win a CB in a game moreso than Crippa.

Sticks -I'm sorry to say - but Motlop needs a run anywhere but seniors, and this should have been so for some time.

The problem is who are firing as small forward options? - answer ZERO. We have nothing despite seemingly having an abundance of "small forward" options. The volume means nothing because all of them are sub-par or worse.

Bring back Owies - please - I still scratch my head on that list mgmt. decision....

I’d pick him for the thirds.
