If Charlie and TDK leave and we get three first rounders we could build a good fwd line around Harry, Hudson, Lemmey and Lewis. As long we we coups on fast mids and fast/agile small forwards.
GWS scored 38 points from our forward half in the first 2 quarters Saturday with Young, Harry and Charlie. If we set up a forward line with that lot, they could crack the ton.
Curnow is contracted until 2029. We're desperate for class and Charlie is the one class player we have. Not to mention he accepted unders with his contract whilst several others were more intent on lining their pockets.
Some people forget the bloke is shorter than Patrick Cripps yet we consistently expect him to stand under sky balls with players much bigger than him jumping all over him. Whilst Harry is running out to the pocket chasing easy kicks, Charlie gives us a reference point in the corridor.
Yet despite enduring injuries that would finish the careers of some players, he has won 2 Coleman medals and turns up every week to get consistently smashed by 2 or 3 defenders at a time. And we're going to replace him with the poorly skilled Harry McKay and a bunch of VFL players. FMD.
I didn't mean Harry, Hudson, Lemmey and Lewis all in the fwd line at the same time, I meant as list depth for tall fwd's. You'd only have 2-3 of the four playing at any one time in the fwd line, Hudson would be first or second ruck.
What I ment was it won't be a disaster if both leave, we can cover them, especially if we can somehow learn to play smarter and fix our forward 50 entries.
