That would be a new way for Carlton to lose a game, have it called off because of lightning.

Wouldn't that mean we don't lose?

I'm actually not sure of the rule around it.

Depends who's in front when it's abandoned.

I have to agree. Our list is poor and not cut out for the modern game. Our better players have produced their best for us and now are on the way down. Knowing that they missed their chance would be playing on their minds. No buzz or excitement.
For me the good news is that if we start putting games into some of the younger talent, take some losses and make some big trades at seasons end we could have
a decent list in 2-3 years. Will have to move on from a few though. Don't want a repeat of 2012/13 list wise.

Having said all that I expect us to be a lot fitter this week compared to last. Id imagine the footy dept thought it was a good idea not to taper for last weeks game thinking 70% peak fitness would be enough to get it done. Probably a decision they would not have made if they knew we were going to cough up 5 goals with under12 style football.
Hopefully we see them put up a bit fight this week. Not expecting a win.

We have had enough of a sample size in regards to McGovern Williams
Fogarty is ordinary doesn’t do enough
Docherty is soft and passed it regardless of the touches he got in the last. The guy has been through the ringer but there should be no sentiment in footy
Voss will continue to select these guys
Two things will happen
We will have wins and losses and some reasonable games where we lose and we will be mediocre
Not enough pace not enough kicking skills not enough balls and toughness
The other scenario is we continue to lose and at a point Moir Binns Lemmey and Wilson’s non-selection becomes an issue if their ready to go
I hope it’s the latter
The third scenario is I am wrong

Agree with most of that.
Except I don’t think Moir, Binns, Lemmey and Wilson will move the needle. Maybe one of them will come good but I don’t think most of them are better than those they’d replace.

The question is how do we know
Binns and Moir were good last year when Voss had to play them
Voss is clearly set in his ways

I agree with 17th.

We all see things differently keogh. No wrongs or rights from where we sit.

I didnt think much of Binns in his cameo appearance last year...chip chip...I'm surprised you haven't had a go at Austin for taking him when we had so many wingmen come onboard and holes wherever you perceive them to be.

Do you watch VFL? Moir has got some weapons, but he does miss easy goals like everyone else, and he goes missing.

He will get a shot in the ones. Lets hope he is breathing fire, because those laconic types with god given skills are the ones who take these gifts for granted. He needs some mongrel.

Did you watch Binns in the preseason praccy games? Chip chip chip and back to square one. he doesn't break lines. He has stamins, sure, but where's the speed? Docherty is much quicker, and more direct than Binns, so why would I want to replace a Docherty with Binns other than hope?

Just thinking about Hawks speedy smalls, and who we have to nullify their speed.

That foot race last week between Cowan and ??? in the last quarter where the Tigers small had too much speed for Cowan and kicked a goal off the ground, really freaked me out.

It was an important moment in the game.

I thought Cowan was much quicker than that. I dont recall his opponent; maybe he is Hussain Bolts love child. That makes me feel better

Saady would have caught him. Maybe Gov, if he didn't slip over, or trip over himself.

Binns has effectively played 2 games despite outstanding form in the reserves for two years
In one of those 2 games he had 433m gained
Moir is a pure forward. Maybe one guy would excel at a higher level
I would have him over Fogarty Motlop Williams or Fantasia

I agree we have too many small forwards.
Looking at what the above bring to the team that Moir can't at this stage, take Motlop.

Break glass Binns.

Against StKilda he had 87% game time: 16 possessions 279m gained 87% DeF
Against Eagles he had 81% game time: 18 possessions 433m gained 55% DeF

V Saints he doesnt have a didpsoal defficiency, whereas with his 433m gaines he had terrible efficiency.

Pick him.

I don't think Binns will change our fortunes, so lets wait and see. I look forward to seeing him,

Does Fog have the agility to play lockdown back pocket? He certainly applies the necessary pressure. It’s not like we’ll miss his goals…

Yes he does. He's quick off the mark. We know hes a tackling machine, and hard at it.

Its his kicking out of defense that would let him down imo. Haven't seen him play there.

Usually if he's in the backline so are 31 other players (incl Forwards), so you don't see him running the ball out and breaking lines from there. I don't know if he can.
Can't see it being the case.

It looks like the ground will be pretty slippery.
Hopefully the rain stops for the game.
