Williams was finished years ago. He doesn't have a meaningful role at Melbourne.
in the mould of choc williams, but not him per say.

I think we sometimes overstate the value of other coaching groups and undervalue ours. I've watched our coaches move players many times to create mismatches or to counter strategies. Can you give examples of opposition coaches beating us by moving the magnets
throughout the season? sheesh, it's happened a dozen or more times. putting me on the spot here, but off the top of my head.
the cats loss stands out. they sent an extra defender goalside to every single stoppage after qtr time, they would simply wait for us to win the clearance and then close down the play as we attempted to exit the stoppage. turnover, and then give up a scoring opportunity.
watching gws after qtr time lift their intensity and send an extra player to the stoppage to take that clearance game away from us. we needed to send a player to their player to match the intensity, rather than watch a 40 point lead slowly erode.
the whole letting bailey dale crucify us Vs the dogs, and not sending a hard tag to him was hard to watch.
the port game really hurt too. up by 30 points in the 2nd qtr, and to only score 1 more goal in the entire 2nd half, while voss and Co kept their hands in their pockets and tried nothing. Nothing! it was hard to stomach and still makes me mad when i think about the passiveness of us lol
the amount of times our defensive stoppage has cost a game? the pies and daicos goal, while cerra and walsh looked at each other. the amount of times saad's direct opponent has gotten out and goaled from stoppage.
i have a problem in general with our man-matchups. when something isn't working or a key player is getting tagged out of a game, why we don't have measures to set them free/ change our look. send cripps or walsh forward/ back etc get charlie out of the goal square and drop harry back into the hole etc
the list goes on and on mate ... but you know this.
