If Charlie’s ankle was 100%, I’d start him on the wing every now and then, running forward or give him a stint in the middle.
As it is, he’ll probably start out of the goal square and run in a straight line but he has a good 100 degrees to choose from and can also choose when to go and how deep to lead. And he can play decoy too, leaving Harry, Martin,Owies, Elijah open or one out.
So we have lots of options - I just hope we’re able to leverage them!

Cottrell done for the season with a fractured shoulder.
Cerra "a few weeks".
Charlie available.
Fantasia the dreaded 1-2 weeks.

Can't kick goals when you're out cold.

reminds me of my old U18's coach.

The downturn happened when Cerra and Cottrell came in. Would be ironic if we rediscover our mojo without them.

The reverse Fog/TDK (1 ruck) winning run.

Great post 17th. Creating more options with what we have.

Its not like you are asking for changing any of the personnel.

If Harry can drift out like a CHF, then there's no reason why Charlie has to continue to predictably stand like a statue in the goal square with his hand up.

Mix it up Blues. Create a bit of chaos for the opposition. Give the midfield a different look and mess with their opponents heads too.

Its obvious the instruction from Voss to the midfield is to gain territory asap to get ahead of the opposition before they set up their defensive zones. I get it, and it worked in the 4th quarter, but mids are copping it for just powering ahead and giving off the long high ball to our KPFs every quarter.

Everyone knows we have been easy to defend against, and no team can put a good opposition to the slaughter for 4 quarters. So lets mix it up, and see what else Charlie can offer from a different position rather than the same old same old. Against Taller/bigger opponents, Charlie is better with ball on the ground.

  great description.

... and that's from a coach in the last 5 years?

AS LONG AS YOU DON'T GET CAUGHT.

Things don't change much, especially when there's no cameras at the ground.

Holy Moly braithy

I missed your Voss reference post. I gave my reasons for my expectations of a Uni student's age.

Well done mate, selling your Kombi and going back to Uni in your 40's. Respect.
Tough gig if you're an average lawyer looking for clients. Big difference between an average lawyer and a good lawyer.
The best deserve to be considered the best. The others....like I said, tough gig. Good luck.

Slug would say that.

I remember him as the U18's coach on Springvale rd back in the day. He was a great development coach.

Plug that and we would have won easily last week, whilst we were playing OK footy at times.

Easy fix. Its between their ears.

WOW

Newman RR

Binns ... I have a feeling Williams plays this week. He trained well this week.

I think we've learned that Hewett is very important for us in the midfield, and is having a better year than Kennedy IMO, and in the stats. Hewett should not be dropped again this year.

I have a very strong & unpleasant feeling that this game's going to be close.
