Put Cottrell on Lever. Cottrell is in form and has the habit of kicking a couple like last Friday
When DeKoning is resting down forward provide a contest and put body on May who clearly will get Charlie
If you nullify one of these players it’s game over
Our mids bat deeper
Our defence will shit over their forwards
Gawn is a fantastic player
Pitto too body him
As much as possible
I would bring in Motlop and Kennedy
Kennedy can be a very effective forward
Make Dow the Sub for extra run
If needed

Keogh, we’ll miss Jack Martin toughness this week

Without getting into another slanging match just revisit everything I have written about him
Opinions are like arseholes…
Did some excellent things Friday night
Did some dumb things as a well
Besides the report let the ball walk through his legs resulting in The Swans last goal and turned it over at the death
But he is talented
Great hands and great judge of the ball in flight
Tackles hard no doubt
In what will probably b a low scoring game a guy capable of kicking a few will be missed
Not his toughness so much

Its fine to want Fisher's run from defense.
But he does that when he's the loose in defense, without an opponent to look after.
Give Dees an extra man in their defense and they will run the ball out with ease, and have the extra to double up on Charlie.

Have a look at the Demons small forwards.
Which one would Fisher defend if he had to take a man?
If he had to take a man, do you really think he will be running out the ball?

You're in denial.
His gut running iis another way he displays his toughness.
His tackling is for keeps.

The ball going through his legs was freakish and could happen to anybody.
Happened in a split second.

I've seen Ricky Ponting bowled, and he knew the ball was coming his way, and he's still the best batsman Ive ever seen.

Kennedy sub

We are desperate for SOS to be fit to play, and I hope he shows a bit of form if he does.
May have got through a training session on Friday, but that's different to playing.

I like the idea of either Gov or Marchbank going forward if SOS isn't selected.

Don't mind it but Jack has to come in IMO. Need another marking player
All going well we can sub a Ruck out later and bring in a runner with Jack doing the ruck

Going to be a nice night for footy so Jack plays

I remember in 1995 we won a heap of games in row coming into finals
Our first final against Brisbane we were poor. Very tight, nervous and scrapped over the line
It was like the game we needed to have
Then in the next two games we played awesome footy. Belief and focus was amazing

I am hoping for the same now

My gut feeling is Jsos isn't ready and we'll have to make do with Kennedy or Cottrell in Martin's role and TDK filling in for H.

With history of hamstrings and remembering that one he did in the last minute of a game year or two back I am very weary. He seemed to grab at it and hobbled to the next contest.
No limp no ice no strapping. Image

He didn't play praccy game but then again the club didnt know Harry would be concussed, but he did a training session and the club was happy with how his knee was next day.

Seems he wasn't quite right for a competitive hit out and the club are giving him every chance to give his knee a chance to recouperate.

It's a weird injury: Sprained knee? Bruised knee?

He will only be selected if his is raring fit. He wont be match fit, that's for sure.

Looks a bit shaky to me.

Walsh said SOS did an intense session on Saturday

I'm not sure what to think. I don't want to take a player into a final if he's 50/50

Melbourne's replacements for Brayshaw, now Roo definitely not playing?

The jury is out amongst Dees fans I know:

Big difference in opinions and all the disussion why or why not Grundy.

1. 2 Rucks Grundy to play forward and Spargo/ Jordan.
or Gawn forward target (injury cloud) and Grundy is No 1 ruck

2. KPD & Small OBrien and Tomlison. Tomlison goes back and Smith forward

3. Two Smalls Jordan and Spargo to keep Petracca forward

That's who used the word "intense". I knew I heard it somewhere.

If Silvagni is unavailable, I would prefer Marchbank forward than McGovern. As others have said, McGovern’s kicking out of defence is a weapon for us. I know it would be an unfamiliar role for Marchbank, but he has the tank to run the Melbourne defenders around and he just needs to halve the contest. If he takes a couple of marks, that’s great, but his main role would be to make sure the opposition don’t mark it and to give our small forwards a chance.

Docherty could take Marchbank’s role in defence and Hollands could take Doc’s spot on a wing. Alternatively, if we want to leave Doc where he is, bring in Fisher to play HB. Fisher’s capacity to stand up in a final is questionable, but his ball use and ability to change the angles out of defence is appealing. I think I’d pick him just ahead of Boyd who hasn’t played much senior footy this year.

Motlop in the 22 for Martin, with Dow or Kennedy as sub.
