Boyd should be ahead of Fisher as a backman with a man to mind because he can tackle and make it stick; sometimes sticks too long and ends with suspension.
Boyd can kick both sides and kick better than Fisher.
I can see Boyd on Pickett, but I can't see Fisher on Pickett.
I can't see Fisher being dropped so Fisher should be sub.
If Fisher is dropped, FMD, Vossy is serious about his ratings of players, like Dow has found out.
Fisher isn't getting dropped and he isn't sub either. Just played the best game of his career and got coaches votes. Went at about 80% efficiency by foot and had second most metres gained. Sort of game Boyd couldn't have in his wildest dreams.
Fish was good the entire game including the first half when aints brought the heat big time. 50+ tackles in first half alone (some teams don't have that many in an entire game), pressure rating above 200 which is elite and doesn't get much higher.
Yes, he can be frustrating but people need to park the Fisher hate for a minute and realise that players do not get dropped after performances like that.
I don't mind Boyd but he is not a walk up start. Missed 3 games of footy. Needs to come back via VFL and play 4 quarters.
No change to the 22 and Ed stays as sub.
Doesn't mean Fish is now a walk up start either. The pressure stays on him to maintain that sort of level as it does on a number of other players currently in the side. We're getting some key players back so those in the side need to keep performing to stay in. Fish more than performed so he stays in. Simple.
