How does Owies walk straight in after a month out ? it’s got me stuffed……
JSOS out worries me he sets the bar for pressure… GWS made us shakey, Crows at home will have a red hot crack.

Sensible changes.
We need Pitto, we're too tall with JSOS down there and Honey worked super hard but his ball use is still not to the standard.

With Pitto in I guess they had to drop either Jack or TDK for team balance...

We've really missed Owies. I hope he hasn't lost too much touch because he hasn't played for over a month

You can only play so many talls

I thought it was a bit prickly in here.
There is no reason to make a point SOS was dropped.
It would not hurt to say 'managed' and let the footy world go off about rucking/ Fwd/ being Mr Fix It had to pay a toll, and a rest was warranted.

Good Post. Post of reason.

I thought Jack needed a rest because he was looking slow.
TDK has increased his ruck time by the week. Jack has been running well to make position.
I thought Jack looked slow in the chase in the last 2 weeks.
I'm not doubting his endeavour and persistence to make tackles.
What we are losing is good decision making: Footy IQ.
Pittonet's return is not in question. Pitto is so important for midfield strength.

2 rucks is the obvious preference whenever it has been on offer this year for Voss. (which I'm a fan of).
TDK really stretches the opposition's defence and he competes hard on the floor too. Has an x factor about him in the ruck and forward. Weapon.

Something has to give.
It will again when the following push their claim, and each and everyone will given a spot for Finals is on the line.

Hewett
Marchbank
Williams
Martin
Boyd

Forget Cuningham, Dow, Stocker, Newnes and Kemp, because Jack is ahead of them.

Interesting team changes
Pittonet will be a big in. Hopefully he can kick start our midfield at centre clearances by giving them first use.
Owies has cemented himself in the 22 and must be rated reasonably highly to not have one game in the 2s after over a month out. Will be a good in if he’s form is as per before his injury.
JSOS - still not sure whether managed or omitted. Think he’s stiff if omitted as has had a good season and should be better without having to play second ruck. Sounds like he may be the sub.

On the flipside, he's coming back refreshed, and no doubt big loads for Finals whilst not playing.

His body was battered in the first half season. He goes in hard, and my eyes tell me he like to hurt.

I'm sure he will be a Bonus

Any other team playing 3 small forwards
Would be interested to know.

I think we lack that mid forward type of player we only seem to have Martin in this role

Hope Jack is the Sub

As I understand Jack didn’t want to be listed as “managed”.

Owies is elite for inside 50 tackles. 2nd in the AFL, he has been missed.
Our scoring has fallen in a hole of recent so we needed to shake it up. I like the changes.
Apart from the Eagles games, we haven't scored over 90 points in a game since Round 10. In the first 10 games, we scored over 100 points 6 times. (For 6 wins)

Have a look at the tall timber they will be feeding from. Any other team got that?

Hey SB, nice feeling living in Sydney having beaten Swans, Giants twice, and most of the expats' teams in the East are from SA WA, Pies, Hawks, Bombers

Yes Owies is a no brainer

He's the only experienced small forward we have and he's not even experienced

Dead eye dick too

Good point about footy IQ. That and effort are his strengths.

If I were Jack I'd be asking to play defence in VFL to add another string to his bow.

Make himself undroppable.

Pittonet & Owies are a couple of important inclusions this week, providing they are match fit.

Silvagni is definitely in our best squad of 25, but I think we’ve dispelled the “he’s one of the first picked” myth. He will get back in the side soon enough, but the changes this week make sense to me. As I said earlier in the thread, I would take him over to Adelaide as travelling emergency - I don’t see any point playing him in the VFL this weekend. If one of the guys under a cloud doesn’t come up, he plays. Otherwise, he gets a week’s rest - which isn’t the worst thing for him at this stage of the year.

Dow should be the sub, IMO.

Dead eye dick has kicked 26.25 career goals. Not saying he shouldn't be in but he could be a tad straighter. Look forward to his tackling heat though

SOS call weird for me

The SOS headline is probably a typo

Honey omit. Jack managed

The ones up the top.

Stengle, Close, Miers
Pickett, Spargo, Neal-Bullen/Salem
Switkowski, Schultz, Walters, Fredrick, Colyer
Bailey, Cameron, McCarthy

They get mistaken for midfielders at other clubs because they get more footy.

Even if we want Motlop in for defensive pressure, JSOS is a far better option. Unless it is supposed to be 'rested' this has got me completely stumped.
I think Honey is a far better option than Motlop in any event - at least let him get a few games under his belt...
Like the ins (assuming Owies is really good to go) baffled by the outs..

You would think so.
It doesn't sense otherwise. It is all over the media that he has been dropped.
