I’d go Hewett and Parker as FAs and take 6 to the draft
Hewett is gettable. No idea at what cost. He looked tough in the Final.
Like Crusader suggested Parker and Guthrie are likely to remain, but hey if we could get either...Parker's my preference. He's a year younger than Guthrie.
The risk with Parker is he's been in battle on the front line for a long time, and may be too banged up to last another 3 years. Hence FA is the real attraction.
Easy to say go to the draft instead of Cerra, but which player, or type of player do you want or expect for pick 6 which becomes pick 8 after FS?
I'm finding it hard to see what those young bodies will become after pick 4 or 5.
Parker, Hewett and Guthrie all offer things we need.
And if we could trade in Cerra too, it'll be a good mix of old and young.
But then we have to think, do we max out our cash and have a potential hole in our list with two first rounders gone over two years?
We might have to flip a coin as we will be damned if we do and damned if we don't.
2016-2019 we drafted 11 x 1st round players not including Setterfield, Kennedy who are same age and 1st round picks
2016-2019 we drafted 4 x 2nd round players
2016-2019 we drafted 2 x 3rd round players
2016-2019 we drafted another 5 kids from the draft.
In 2020 we drafted Durdin Carrol Mirkov Boyd Parks and traded for Fogarty
There's plenty of youth on our list.
Missing out on first rounders in 2020 and 2021 for more mature players hopefully gives our list a better mix.
