If the club recruits Cerra there is still the need for more depth in the midfield.
A Jarrod Berry/Schoenberg type hard nut or run with mid, especially with Ed Curnow turning 32 in November.
Not great key position depth either - apparently Sam Skinner (24yo ex Lion) is performing well in the SANFL.
Mature ruck?
Not that I don't want Cerra, but I was thinking the same thing today.
Our starting Midfield imo should include Walsh and 2 big bodies: one being Cripps and the other being someone with a bit of pace like a Hopper, a Dunkley, and yes to a Jarrod Berry. Cripps isn't blessed with speed, but I expect him to have a huge preseason getting his body and head right to apply himself more defensively next year. Fingers crossed.
If we can't get a Hopper type in the Trade period, I'd prefer Silvagni ahead of Kennedy in the midfield group, if
Cerra is an upgrade on Dow in terms of body size, but adds a bit of class. If Dow can take the next step next year, Cerra and Dow would be handy mixing it up with walsh through wing, mid and HF.
Chol was mentioned by Cazzeman recently, and he looks like the only worthy replacement for Levi.
Pitto signed for another year, but feel TDK will work on his craft and strength over the preseason to take the No 1 ruck from Pitto. Pitto can't play forward imo, and can't just sit on the bench to rotate when TDK needs a rest, so he's No1 ruck or reserves.
TDK needs a bonafide ruck waxing partner in the forward line, preferably not Silvagni, hence Chol. I see Bombers have their eye on him.
