But which one? I've had many schemes in this thread, each more zany than the last.

Yeah, that kind of thing.

Maybe we should arrange it with the AFL that they find us guilty of drug-cheating and ban half our list for a year. Let us top up with those 23-28 year old midfield bods we've been crying out for. But good ones. Then "discover" that we never drug-cheated in the first place, let all the banned players return, let us keep the top-ups, let us sign everyone on big money, then give us some PPs just for fun.

It might just work.

The AFL wouldn’t let us top up! They would make us play with 30 players for the year. They would then protect the banned players by giving them FA status. That’s us compared to others in the AFL world.

Interesting proposition on OTC.

Take away the current version of the priority pick.

Bring in a law that each year every club that hasn't made the finals in the last 5 yrs gets an extra pick after the first round.

eg. Carlton #19, GC #20, Brisbane #21, StK #22, etc...

Thoughts ?

Based on exhibited form we’d receive every pick from 19 to 726.

What do you expect from a socialist system?

Go back to the free market system where money talks and brings success. This was Carlton's domain once. We hired and payed for the best of the best and it gave us success like no other club.

Then the AFL went full socialist and Carlton tried to buck the new system and the AFL did what all socialist systems do, they tried to destroy us.

Socialism being what it is, and the history of what it does, every single time, is slowly destroying the entire game. Political correctness has no place in sport. I wish the AFL could learn that.

But once socialistic parasites sneaks their greedy narcissistic claws into anything, you only have to sit back and watch them destroy whatever they takeover.

Gay pride days, womens league, hey lets not beat around the bush anymore, every team wins a premiership every year ...

It figures that a Socialist system would screw the people with the cash but condone and encourage the people with the Syringes:

- East Germany
- Russia
- China

That's where we are.

I'm none the wiser. Is it a case of, if you don't ask, you don't get ?
Or what's the chances of the AFL allocating the PP to Carlton, even though it wasn't requested ?

Your ‘free market’ system had most clubs turning off the lights.

Maybe we haven't asked because we fear if we do we will owe the AFL one.

AFAIK clubs have to apply to receive a priority pick.
If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

Allocation of a priority pick end of 1st Rd is part of the AFL discretionary assistance scheme.
I read on another forum that CFC won 25 games over 5 years no certain, I wonder whether we're eligible ?

By not asking for one we also increase the chances of GC being given a pp at the start of the first round. We then lose all our bargaining power.
