but we are not rebuilding
its just that we are in a mess and are planning to stay there.
Every team rebuilds their list every year.
Most have 6 to 8 changes
We use the term rebuild to justify our shitiness

Don’t muddy the water SB....

One fanboy following another, no idea!!! Get a life!
Please explain to me how O’Shea, Thomas, Kerridge, Lamb, Shaw, etc....offer more to us right now then players we have traded out? I’ll be interested to hear directly from on you on some real footy feedback for once!!
I assume you’re comparing that mob with Waite, Betts, Jacobs, Gibbs, etc etc.
None of those you’ve listed offer more than those we’ve lost.
But those we’ve lost left for a variety of reasons. Some of it was our gross mismanagement (Betts), some was for greater opportunity (Jacobs), some was for cultural reasons (Waite) and some was for reasons beyond the club’s control (Gibbs).
The point is with the exception of maybe Tuohy we didn’t “trade them out”. They chose to leave whether for personal reasons or for reasons associated with mismanagement at the club.
Trying to compare them with the list of retreads you’ve supplied is a nonsense. Those guys were brought in to provide some temporary support for a bunch of super talented kids who will form the nexus of the next Carlton side of which we can all be proud.
The important thing to notice is we’re building a serious list of talent for the first time in over 20 years and if you can’t see that then I don’t know what to say.
Culture is obviously massively important but having guys around the club who maybe don’t really want to be there (see Marc Murphy) is far more detrimental to our long term future than worrying about a few C graders brought in to fill a demographic gap on our list for a year or two.
