It's a long season, so I'd happily be conservative with the two K's, and add some more run to the side.
B: Simpson - Jones - Byrne
HB: Mullett - Marchbank - Plowman
C: Fisher - Cripps - SPS
HF: Garlett - C. Curnow - Thomas
F: Wright - Silvagni - Dow
Casboult - E. Curnow - Murphy
Lamb - Weitering - Cunningham - Polson
Weiters will have to play as a swingman. Going back when Jones takes a turn in the ruck, and playing forward as part of the rotation.
Let Silvagni play as a full-forward; not as a third tall or as a defensive forward. Let him play on his own terms, seeking the ball and attacking the goals.
Between Wright, Cunningham, Polson, Simpson, Byrne, Mullett, Fisher, SPS, Garlett, Dow and the Curnow's... that's a lot of blokes who can take a turn in the midfield and potentially a lot of run.
My only problem with that is Casboult going up against Witts all day worries me. He doesn't have the height or the leap or the ruckcraft to compete. If Kreuzer doesn't come up we may not have much choice given neither Phillips nor Lobbe would seem to be match fit, whilst Harry was poor in the 2s and TDK not ready for seniors yet. If we do go in with Casboult and Jones as our rucks, I'd be inclined to try Jones as first option given his leap and have Cas relieve him. Weiters then has a role down back and we doný disrupt our defence when we rest our ruckman, we get to see Jones have a run in the ruck at AFL level and rest forward to see whether his new found confidence might provide improved performance in what was until last year his primary position. And if it doesn't work we can always put Jones back to defence, Casboult to the ruck and whichever tall defender might be replaced by Jones forward. In any event, eben if Kreuzer comes up we probably have to plan around roving to a losing ruck in terms of the hit-outs.
