Bachar Houli referred direct to Tribunal, striking JLamb. No early plea available.

We had a prime opportunity to really get under Houli's skin and really get him off his game, and we didn't take it. I noticed that we didn't niggle anyone this week....

SOS backed himself into a corner when he couldn't deliver, when other deals he was working on fell apart...

Desperation can cause ridiculously one sided deals (Geelong didn't rape us, we did it to ourselves) and that's what the Tuohy deal was...

How did Geelong come out better than us? :?

Really? The Cats will possibly drop 4 spots (or less) in the draft, and picked up one of the premier small defenders in the league, as well as offloading one of their players who was contracted, and clearly surplus to their requirements...

What we did afterwards has nothing to do with the Cats....

The Cats made out like bandits in the Tuohy trade!

Murphy had a team high of 26 pressure acts on Sunday.

Some of you guys only see what you expect to see.

The week before against GC Gibbs had a team high of 24.

Murphy had only 2 tackles tho.
Gibbs had 10 tackles in the GC game.

The Cats made out like bandits in the Tuohy trade!

1. Tuohy was out of contract and we offered him a shit contract to force him out the door. We didn't have much of a foot to stand on in the negotiations and you don't want to get a reputation for being difficult to deal with like Essendon* as fewer players and clubs will want to deal with you
2. We're not going to win every trade/nail every draft pick but so far since SOS has been in charge I think we have gotten something good in return in every trade.
3. It is very important to look at what we did after the trade. We traded the first pick and our third and fourth rounders from last year for Pickett, Marchbank, and GWS second rounder this year which we traded to the Hawks for the picks we used on Macreadie and Willo (might have been Poulson instead of Willo)

So essentially
Out: 2017 second rounder, Touhy, 2016 third rounder, 2016 fourth rounder
In: Marchbank, Pickett, Willo, Smedts, Macreadie

You can't be too unhappy with that!

What is a "pressure act" anyway? Sorry, but when I emigrated from Victoria in '93, the only stats we had were K-H-M-FF-FA-G-B. Since then, it appears we have become baseball fans.

If you try to tackle Dustin Martin and get casually swatted away like a fly, is that a pressure act? If so, I'm not sure it's something to be proud of. Somehow I think Bryce's 24 pressure acts had a little more impact that Marc's 26.

You don't even need to touch an opponent to register a 'pressure act', chasing someone can qualify if it's deemed to have hurried their kick.

So a missed tackle is a pressure act?

And that's a good thing?

Of course the result of the pick is relevant.
The trade value is determined by what we obtained with it. We got a gun 19 year old key defender. Already a rising star nominee and one of the best intercept marking players in the AFL. Where our list profile is at, that alone is easily worth more to us than Zach Tuohey.

Clearly inadequate. AFL should appeal. Of course they won't.

What a surprise. Next game we should have someone knock out Rance, except they'd get life

You asked how Geelong came out better than us...
The Cats gave up nothing to get their trade target, we gave up heaps!

Yes, we got a gun 19 year old key defender, we payed handsomely for Caleb... Zach Tuohy and pick 19 or 20 (or thereabouts)!

Once other deals SOS was negotiating fell through, he gifted Zach to the Cats to get what he needed for Caleb!
The Cats were the beneficiaries of our desperation!
It's also why this deal happened late in the trade period....

I may be wrong but i sense through a number of your previous posts on recruitment that you do not like SOS much.
Your fighting a losing battle. SOS could afford 2 or 3 or 4 misses in the coming few drafts and still be way ahead. Thus far, he is almost batting at 1000.
Move on.
