Sumner for Graham perhaps. Jaksch or Philips for Gorringe. Maybe no change this week.
this is interesting to me, bb. taking gorringe out of the team after his game on the weekend is a pretty ridiculous notion, imo.
a guy has a great game, and you bench him? (is that because you've pigeon holed him as a scrub?)
... that's the exact kind of deflating, move for the sake of making a move, which saw us be such a pathetic club from top-to-bottom for the last decade plus.
tbf, re gorringe's game on the weekend. he showed more in that one game than jacksh has shown in the grand sum of all of his games in the 1's and 2's for us.
TBF I'm not the MC, and I'm guessing there will not be any change. I'm throwing up different names than the obvious.
I thought Gorringe's stats for last week's game was really impressive. In fact, his stats were better than Walker's. In fact, Gorringe's stats against Lions were better than all Walker's games this year. Doesn't mean much though.
As for Jaksch, I'm not sure what the MC have in mind. What I expect though is that he'll be given time in the seniors just as other big men such as Jones Philips Gorringe have. Jaksch is close to selection, and you can take that to the bank.
I wouldn't say that Gorringe showed more than Jaksch in the NB's before his call up, but got the call up nevertheless because we needed a ruckman.
My bet is that Gorringe hasn't cemented a spot in the seniors, but he has put his hand up for a spot on our 2017 list.
The MC have given everyone a go including Jones, who was also unfortunate to lose his spot after a competitive showing.
Maybe he was going for chest marks again.
So, who knows how the MC will go? I don't. But I'm interested.
