SUNDAY 1:10 PMCats will be more than a bit annoyed after today, so expect another lesson.
Tall team on every line, so we're more of a chance to beat them with our run. Collingwood showed today that they have been carrying the same weaknesses for years.
Out: Everitt, White
In: Wood, Cuningham
Everyone knows I'm a fan of how Everitt sees the game for the most part, but when your team mates don't hit up some nice leads, something isn't going well. Perhaps it's team rules, perhaps it's a lack of trust in his marking ability, perhaps his 'short steps' when running with the flight errs too far on the side of shirking the contest from those overseeing the game plan (I personally think smashing head-long into a contest when you don't have a hope in hell of affecting it beyond a free kick against is dumb, but that's just me I guess).
White was abysmal and had a decent match-up in Waite, which he eventually took on, and failed at. Awful decision maker with the footy, and when to take possession of the footy. Rowe can go back into defence.
If we're not going to eschew the traditional ruck setup to try and keep performing players in their best positions for the team, then I guess we plonk Gorringe up forward and give him a go at his long-term position. Wood is just about the slowest player in the league, but he's 6'9 and has confidence in the ruck position.
For mine, we should be looking to add spread around the centre clearances and general clearances, and Cuningham delivers on that front. Walker's first half probably shades anything that Boekhorst can come up with today.
