Haven't we replaced half the staff in the building since about this time last year?

Ah yes but the board replaces the staff to fix the problem and that doesn't fix the problem.
Want to know why the board can't fix the problem when though they have replaced everybody three times over?

That's because the board IS THE problem!

Who would have thought eh? Lol

Simple case of process of elimination really

Have we been told when the 66 games begin exactly and exactly what's expected after we hit 66 games?

all need to be exited out asap - these guys wont get better and wont be with a premiership

still undecided about Broekhurst and Graham

happy with charlie , but rest him regularly
JW - superb - when everyone was losing their heads in the 3rd, JW has time and space marks in defence pauses then lace out foot pass.
i just pray that we dont burn these young kids

swans have a well driven team , superb list and a midfield

endeavour was there but no basic skills that lets us down - so what this means is we need to migrate players out and draft in new talent as fast as possible with a new development program driven and funded by the board...

Don't burn out the kids, but get rid of all the senior players ASAP? How does that work?

I agree that our seniors are way below par and won't be part of the next great Carlton side (I'm being crazy optimistic here and reckoning there will be one in my lifetime, even though the same 3 or 4 clubs have dominated the AFL for a decade now). But you can't just ditch them all at once and expect a squad with no experience to come good all on it's own; you need some old heads to turn potential into results. GWS have realised this, and we need to not forget it.

good point. this is the essence of one of our problems
We need some hard bodies experienced players to take the load for the young kids
i fear our present situations is that our senior players are not leaders and our kids get hurt
then if we replace the old leaders with moderate aged recruits to protect the kids we are back to square 1 doing a patch up of the list rather than a rebuild
thats why I mentioned elsewhere securing a 24yr old true A grade defender to help JW
we are in a seriously bad position - either way...too young we are gone ..patch up with mid aged recruits we are gone

Old players will not improve that why we should be playing the younger ones
at least they have a chance of improving

The negativity in this thread is totally bizarre.

Syd look fantastic and we simply don't have the cattle to compete.

This year Bolts will weed out more and more and we will see who can take us forward.

I think some people just enjoy being negative. We all spoke before the season we were in for a rough year and some big losses, and as soon as we have one people lose their shit.

Accept we aren't the powerhouse we used to be, different time different club. Many mistakes have been made let's see how this goes before hanging ourselves.

Old players can improve and as everybody else.
It's about structures v individual.
We've had problems with structures for fifteen years

It's really not going to be about the individual rather it's a case of sticking out with the structures as you've trained for them.

But in order to do that there's much work to be done on every individual old and young so collectively they're working the structures they're supposed to be working.

This is now not about the one coach but about everybody at the football club moving in one direction and understanding their role.

The club is all over the shop and that's what crystalizes on the field each Saturday afternoon.

Now relegated to Sunday nights

I didn't see much wrong with our structures in either of our first 2 games, just outclassed and out gunned.

For the first time ever the club aren't overselling where we are at. First step is admitting a problem and that has been done. Will it work? I don't know but I'm at least willing to let them try.

You know as well as I do Synners even if we had everyone you wanted running the club things wouldn't of turned around to the point we were going to win yesterday.

Was disappointed to see Docherty going one-on-one with Tippett and Franklin on a few occasions. To play 4 tall defenders and still somehow lose our structure and end up with Docherty covering is not acceptable.

i am hopeful that blaine b can keep improving. copped a heavy knock in the leg early yesterday and was off the ground for a lot of the game. came back in the last quarter and provided that extra bit of run and zip around half forward. he has a certain x-factor.

jed lamb on the other hand doesn't seem to offer much at all, but worth giving him a few more weeks to see if he can improve. i'd have liked it if he could go into the midfield a bit, but it seems like he is purely a relatively slow small forward, which doesn't provide much.

was very gladly surprised by dale thomas. thought he got his hands on the ball a lot and laid some nice tackles. unfortunately he seems to be only an outside player - he doesn't really participate in centre bounce contests and yesterday this is where we were getting beaten.

sam rowe always tries hard, but unless he is crunching a pack with a big fist, he looks lost. at one point i saw him running around, trying to find a player to pick up, but everyone was running everywhere from sydney and he couldn't work out who he was on. he actually ran around in a complete 360 on his own with no one within 10m of him. regardless, i think he is still our best option as a tall defender along with jamo. i think weitering can play on talls and mediums.

kerridge looks really strong in the marking contest. a few times he had to mark on the lead under close checking and he was able to hold on, when others would have dropped it. i thought his skills were better than last week against richmond.

sydney had really good skills and rarely dropped marks. i think had we executed our skills a bit better we would have been a lot closer. so many times that we would have had a shot at goal coming up if we just hit the target, but sloppy disposal caused a turnover.

I am unsure what your definition of 'wheels falling off' is, Synbad?

Can you list a few indices based largely on quantitative data?

Yes ten goals but you can't blame me for any of them.
I know you're losing patience after fifteen years of crap and your looking to vent.
But when you seek me out you're on the wrong tram

I'm at peace! I know where this club is at... So you can't upset me.. With your misplaced frustrations all choked up inside you...

You understand this right?

Yes the wheels we put on over the end of last season..

I just looked into my tea leaves and I see more of the same.

Let's see!

All too predictable seeing the same old nags rock back in when the boys on field have a tough day at the office.

Not sure what more than changing the list with 15 new players in one season will do to satisfy some... I know every recruitment selection isn't going to be a Stringer, Bontempelli, Wines or Cameron..

I didn't see anyone on this board or any other board or any expert commentators for that matter suggesting our selection of coach was a bust either, yet there you go, suddenly the couch potatoes are stirring... (and to think we missed out on Roosy)

What the @#$%&! is this 12 rounds crap about? Such a targeted, indefensible statement... What are we going to wait for round 12 to work out? What the hell satisfies a pass mark? If we win 3 by round 12 is that acceptable, 6 wins ? If we don't win the next 10, what happens? Another epic fail? Sack everyone again?

I actually don't get what will satisfy some... Nothing short of being undefeatable immediately will do.... Sorry but that ain't gonna happen, with this club or any other club.. The era of deep pockets of 15 years ago is gone.....

I'm tired of the same regurgitation that spews out of the same old's around here.

I've hated the last 15 years and this is the first time in a long time that I see a glimmer of enthusiasm, structure, development.. Even a 10 goal defeat, left me gutted but not disillusioned like the many others I've had to endure...

I just want to enjoy seeing the kids develop over the next 2-3 years, maybe win a few this year, more wins the next year and maybe a few more again the year after...

I also really enjoy reading the some of the critical, constructive, out-there thinking on this forum.. just not the same garbage I've had to tolerate for the last 5 years, please...

Spineless.

"Oh shit, we almost beat the Tigers!! Better keep my head down"

Then you get a ten goal loss to puff the chest out. For a guy who drones on endlessly about courage you have none.

It's just a forum Synbad, what are you scared of?

A tough day in the office?
That's fifteen years overtime loll

OK please go on

Same garbage is where this club is at

Why should we not be critical exactly?
If you notice everybody is angry upset etc
And I'm the positive one here saying I think we're getting flushed down the toilet but lets see
That's pretty positive!

I'm giving them twelve weeks to not do what I know they're going to do

Poor Bolton! This isn't hawthorn

couldn't drag yourself to a keyboard for fear of being made to look a fool.

It's just an Internet forum Synbad .

What were you scared of last week?

Just how insecure are you that you have to stop posting when we have the slightest hint of a heartbeat.

No resilience .

I'm banned here very often
In even told by moderators I should have my own blog
Don't you tell me when I can post and when I can't too

I looked in tea leaves many years ago and told you that you'll never see a flag at this club ever again
Not just you but your children and you're childrens children
That's the state of this football club
In fact it's people like you who attempt to cover for the perpetrators who are just as guilty as they are for allowing this to happen.
Think back at all the fools gold you've been yelling eureka on
This club is no closer to success than it was during the Goddard wells night at afl house

Do you know how long ago that was?

The club has slid into the abyss
It was no accident either

Do you know how hard it is to take the greatest club in Australian sport and put it through the mincer?
It's very rare that happens and it's not bad luck.. And it's not getting fixed by these people

It's the same people you've been cheering on for the duration of the collapse!

Take a bow! You supported out every step of the way
