Kerridge's turnovers at crucial stages in the game esp early in the last cost us big time ...
And Levi should not be playing AFL football ...

Nothing changed my mind on the players we need to replace before being good.

Loved the rest of what i saw though. Go blues. How exciting!

I agree. We might easily have been 6 goals at 1/4 time instead of four.

Casboult's kicking was worse than ever tonight. 0-2 and one OOB, all from close in.
We will have to hope Gorringe or McKay come good for this yer if Casboult can't produce. He is a tease. I think nerves got the better of him tonight. That checkside from 20 out was the move of a man bereft of confidence in himself.

Maybe there is a gem in this year's draft. We should get a pick inside the top few.

Well, i was expecting a loss anyway, but to get so close is heartbreaking.

But i had faith we wouldn't have a blow out like most of the halfwit pundits predicted. So i'll take a 9 point loss. It's the fact that we SHOULD have won that hurts.

That shank from Casboult. The touched on the line from Cripps............ Oh well, coulda, shoulda, woulda etc etc.

Cripps and Murphy are outstanding and just need that extra bit of Match fitness.

Great 1st up game from Wietering. 90% efficiency. Is he already our best defender?

Bokehurst impressive - but needs to just lift that final 10%.

I said in another tread about the importance of our mids kicking goals.......... the likes of Muphy / Gibbs / Cripps need to kick 15-20goals each this year. All of them registered a goal so that's a good start.

It ain't easy adopting a new style of play in a short amount of time, especially after half the team had been subjected to crap-negative style of football for the last 3 years. It's gonna take time to settle in.

But I have faith in this team - I reckon we'll win more than people think this year.

Sure, the Tigers were without Deledio and a few others, but they are still a very good side with Cotchin, Martin, Riewoldt etc etc........... and we stuck it to them.

We're gonna be OK.

Maybe Jaksch will have a breakout year and can replace Casboult?
Buckley went missing tonight - I think Daisy might take his place next week.
Good effort however to be honest we were pretty much at full strength whilst Richmond were missing some key players.

Daisy should replace Everitt

Not a doubt in the world. I expect Dylan to play more games for Preston than Carlton this season.

A classy, marking, goal kicking forward. A quality crumber, and a big key defender. I know that's asking a lot but, we have those three and we are a threat to any side.

And please, let's not discuss the players we've "let go" in recent years. Time for a drink.

Went to game. My observations :

Tiges are shit.
Should have won.
Casboult is poison. Must be his last game ever. Joke.
If we persist with Levi we are a comedy act.

Maric and Dids were the only really important ones missing.

I think Richmond could finish anywhere between 4th and 14th.

I think we were good and could win up to 6-7 if we manage to keep our top players on the park.

The Casboult miss that could have put us 15 up was costly

Kerridge making similar kicking errors as Carrazzo

Phillips whilst not great at ruckwork does throw himself around and get to a lot more contests than Warnock did.

Great effort overall

Need Thomas, Jaksch to step up and hopefully Charlie Curnow and Cuningham can show some glimpses.

A few turnovers and blunders but far fewer than is usual and you have to expect some particularly when you take the game on. We actually marked on leads inside 50 and ran the game out better than expected given the ferocity of the press. Our field kicking was much better and there were some Geelong style slick handballs running in a pack through the middle.

Great game from murthy,Cripps, bb, simmo, Gibbs.
Weitering, wright doc walker curnow good.
Kruze never looked at the ball in the ruck but still did OK.

Much better skills everywhere but the buggers made me care and now am cheesed off.
Still - well played!

I think I'd feel less pissed off if we'd been thumped by 10 goals. So near and yet so far. Murphy and Cripps lack of condition told in the end, hope they both pull up okay. I have a nagging feeling this may be the story of our year. Honourable losses while the season is young, followed by some thumpings as the long, hard season tells on the kids.

Caboult. Gee, what can you say? Each time he was lining up I was praying someone would run past for the handball. He's a mark and kick player who can't kick a goal to save himself. Too slow to apply pressure when the ball hits the ground. Really hard to justify his place in the side.

Considering the players Richmond had out I don't think we should get too carried away with this effort. We lost to a good ordinary side, no more than that.

Gee, for a young side coming though they didn't do too bad against a potential top 4 side. Will be top 6. They get to that point each year so let's not go on about a good ordinary side.

Casboult kicks straight and his game is very good. Kicking was the difference between a damn good game and an ordinary one. Still, to have a shot at goal you have to get it, which he does. Many others won't get the ball in the first place to have a shot. But gee those misses hurt bad. Needs to get last year's kicking boots back badly.

Plenty who will come through as the season goes. Jaksch did well in the VFL and might be ready to help Casboult forward. We need that. I'm very sure Plowman will be pretty useful, as will Byrne, who should've been in, and Charlie Curnow will probably come in as the season goes and do alright. We really don't know our best side yet.

No, combine with Casboult. Be a bit easier with two key forwards spreading opposition numbers rather than all of them going to one player.

To improve our team we have:

Thomas
Plowman
Jaksch
Byrne (brilliant for NB's praccy thumping of Tigers today)
Sumner
Armfield

That was not our 'best 22' out there.

Casboult kills us. Unfortunately he is all we have at the moment.
I am sure we all agree he is not up to it but we don't have anyone else for a while.
We have been sucked into putting too much time into him.

How good was the game without the subs !?

The only thing good about the sub era was that it puts * and ? against the Hawks flags. Not sure about you guys but I can't take them 3 flags serious.
