Hey Jarusa I have a question for you.
I clicked on Zeunert's profile and clicked edit. There was nothing their to edit but I just wanted to test if I saved it if it automatically changes the profile or whether it had to be apporved by the admin. Anyway my question is, is their any type of protection on the profiles and everything on the site to stop users for deleting/messing it up? Like say you type up a profile for Lance Whitnall and some other user deletes what you typed can the old data be retreived? Just thought I'd ask cos it would be a shame if anything like that did happen.
Good question Zippy.
This is something that is a bit confusing with the wiki concept.
Basically anyone can change a page.
With the Zeunert profile you were free to add anything you wish.
Everytime someone adds something a new 'version' of the page is saved, the older 'version' of the page is still saved as well, in fact if there are hundreds of versions of a page they are all saved.
So say you wrote up a great profile on Zeunert.
... and then someone came along and deleted all your text and wrote something stupid like 'Zeunert is a poopy head'.
What would happen is either:
a) Myself or any of the users with 'editor' priveledges notice this has been done and simply change the page back to the good Zippy version. (I get an automatic email for every change that has been made to the site so I can keep an eye on things)
b) You notice something strange has happened and alert me about it so that I can reverse the 'vandalism'.
Hopefully, while the site is being built we can just limit the users of the site to Carlton supporters and keep any vandalism to a minimum.
Does that make sense? Sometimes I can be a bit vague explaining this sort of stuff.
Any more questions feel free to ask.
