in all honestly everyone around the afl says we did alright, b/b+ for our trade period, and that's based off 4 picks inside the top 20 in a really top heavy draft.
outside of the possibility plowman might turn into a regular seniors player, the players we obtained aren't too flash and have the ants written all over them. if you loved Jones, you will simply adore Jed Lamb.
people getting excited about kerridgei is a bit of the lulz too ... he's like the diet strength version of Andrew Carrazzo.
and, henceforth he shall only be known as Carrazzo-lite. or CL if your hamstrung for time or typing from your phones.
that is all. have a great day everyone.
Have you seen them play, a lot?
If not you really ought to shut the @#$%&! up I reckon.
haha. cool your jets. i understand anyone coming through our doors we tend to look at, as some kind of future saviour. it's good to be cup half-full so good on you!
but yeah, i have seen a bit of the guys we bought in and have access to a few bits and pieces at work.
laidler has only beat a handful of guys at the swans physical preseason metrics testing. Lamb was one of those players. Laidler gets by in the afl b'cos he has excellent IQ, awareness and his ability to read the play and break up attacks from his great positioning. Lamb doesn't have the footy iq of laidler, and he's slower and not as agile. hopefully he has more endeavour than liam jones, that alone might get him a game over jones?
Saw lots of kerridge at the crows when I did a 6-month work contract out that way. hence the carrazzo-lite comparison. in fact there's lots of replication in Whiley and kerrdige. Basically, both have tanks and that's it.
Plowman, has potential. As of right now though, Simon White is a better third tall option at the back. No doubt GWS weighed up Plowman's potential over several other key defenders they have around the same age and deemed his potential to be the least of those, so that's why we got him for such a low cost.
haven't seen any of sumner ... but considering we got him for free. literally for free! it's not a stretch to think he'll be in the ants considering he's managed 12 senior games for a bottom of the ladder outfit in 4 seasons.
phillips is in to replace wood and hopefully he does, and is not a downgrade. I thought wood had a pretty good season last year. he gave maximum effort in a team where few others did, so maybe that's why wood stood out.
