Yet another record-breaking loss...and you can hear crickets at the AFL head office.

Not our concern says the AFL...now imagine if that same club that is receiving the hidings was Brisbane, North Melbourne or Port Adelaide. Heaven forbid.
I am thinking the AFL's response in "assistance" would be marginally (eh-hem) different.

I can't wait to see what package the AFL has to put together at the end of this year to "rescue" Brisbane.

Forget the AFL, it's not their problem, Carlton got themselves into this mess, they can get themselves out of it the right way.

It's people with a negative mindset who Paul Roos slammed at Melbourne. This website is the same at times.

Tell me. How are Carltons problems going to be solved by going to the AFL for a rescue package?

Well I would start with the AFL paying off Carlton's debt. Did the AFL just get a 2.5 billion tv deal? I wonder where they will put that money...you can bet your bottom dollar it won't be to assisting Carlton.

Why WAS North Melbourne's 6 million dollar debt (now paid off by the AFL with special dividends) a priority for the AFL and yet Carlton's six million debt is irrelevant.

I will tell you why...because Carlton is seen as being " a rich club".. yet.that was 30 years ago. Carlton needs assistance- financial, moral, intellectual, physical etc - from the AFL...and for the AFL to stop treating them as " a rich club".

Another example was the membership drive at the beginning of this year. Carlton didn't have enough money to man the phones...now whose fault is that you are saying? Carlton's obviously I hear you saying. How many memberships did Carlton miss out on?

Yet just imagine without a six million dollar debt somehow Carlton would have found the funds to man the phones.

These are just examples. Recruiting... how many scouts do Carlton have compared to Hawthorn I wonder?
Which club is the richer again...i forgot.

Yes that staggering sense of entitlement, the welfare cancer that has eaten the heart out of Australia. When in trouble it is someone else's strategy and while we are at it kick the Pratt's off the board.

I would be among the first to admit that we were crap yesterday, but the commentators were even worse. Not at all impartial. Glowing of everything GWS were doing and hardly a positive thing to say about Carlton. Even suggesting that Downie's tackle on Ellard that concussed him was terrific and the perfect umpiring decision was made as a result. :banghead: So much for the head being sacrosanct and protected.

We really are a laughing stock. Has nothing to do with yesterday's list, we had only 26 to pick from. It's more from opposition supporters and commentators alike who look at guys like Betts, Garlett, Waite, Jacobs, Grigg, Robinson and Laidler running around for other teams and laugh at us, a lot. Add Hendo, Yarran and possibly Kruezer and Menzel to the list and it's simply mismanagement from the club that has seen these players out. That's half a side so don't tell me about attitude's etc.... That many players don't leave a club if there's not something inherently wrong there. I've lost my patience with this club, we are in dire straights if we get the drafting wrong over the next two years but get it right and we could do a Bulldogs or Port. Thank F}#k we have Crippa who we can build a team around, otherwise I'd have no hope.

I agree 100% with you.

It is a welfare mentality....and that sense of entitlement is the reason why Australia is heading down the gurgler. No one is willing to work when one can steal from the govt...I mean some of the people involved in recent riots were also on "disability support" programs.....apparently not disabled enough to not riot. however, one mustn't get the real world confused with the AFL world.

The AFL world is very different to the real world...It is controlled by the head office based on a socialist utopic system. They control the purse springs. They are the puppet masters. Carlton has to join the conga-line to have any chance. Beg if you have to...get some strength and then reassess...but at present Carlton is always in a position of weakness.

I think they have to hold onto Menzel. He is only young...and hopefully not injury prone. That is the big unknown. There is enough upside there to work with.

Yarran was my favourite Carlton player, however, with those running bounces a thing of the past it is clear his heart isn't in it.
Henderson has made his intentions clear, chase the premiership. He won't get the premiership with Geelong. Pick Hawthorn if he can.

We should have never let Betts, Garlett, Jacobs and Laidler go. Huge mistakes. I liked Grigg and Robinson as well, but with Robinson and Garlett I guess the off-field stuff caught up with them.

past collingwood glories don't count for us
he hasn't contributed anything to us in two years, when he does and consistently then we can count him in

The Thomas of 4/5 years ago was elite. What we have is a 28yo injury prone player on a huge contract, who is yet to deliver in any way on our investment in him.

And he's still in our best 10-12 players

They were quick to drive us out of our home ground and take away our main revenue.
They are also the 1st from stopping us moving away from the money pit because it's dollars in their back pockets not ours.
They have achieved the ultimate goal re: Carlton and that was to destroy our hold over the AFL.
Now they don't give a flowering stuff. We need an admin that can stand up to them and fight the fight. Until then they will dominate us.

No his not. Not until he proves it anyhow. Right now not even close.

SOS and Bolts checking out GWS players more than assessing ours.
