For one I don't think SOS will even consider reserve players who never made it when given a decent opportunity at other clubs (e.g. Tutt and Jones).
Two, if we have implemented a TPP tiering structure, we won't be overpaying anymore.
Three, I think if we go down the Boston Redsox path, performance will be used to gauge contracts over a period of time.
Only assumptions, but simple methods to use to modernise our list management.
I agree with comments. The systems and methods seem simple to everyone else except the club and have so for a long time.
It's seems as though everyone can see the issues but the club can't. It really feels like groundhog day.
My concern going forward is the lack of accountability for bad decisions and the lack of cultural change around the club. It seems to be same decisions being made by different people.
MLG seems lost and lacks genuine leadership and at the moment that's what we need. We need something to excite the masses. Strip the club and the list back and communicate what we are doing and membership will grow, win or lose.
If as some people suggest Barker has got the nod then that is a disgrace. Not because of Barker himself but because there is no way a proper process (as promised) could of been conducted in such a short period of time. There is no way that during a season we could of trimmed a list and then had 2-3 interviews or presentations from the candidates.
This trade and draft period is vital for the club. The most vital ever. If we don't show we have changed our attitude and are truly looking to rebuild the next decade will be barren in terms of results and membership and we will simply be a puppet for the AFL.
I am forever hopeful but the signs aren't great so far.
