He's wrong to (sort of) defend Malthouse - the reason our list is so shit is because he got rid of everyone who could kick a goal and brought in his permacrocked mate and a bunch of utter spuds.
Rubbish - the list wash shot by Ratten. Betts was a mistake. Waite and Garlett not as good as you are claiming. Daisy cost us salary cap that we would have spent anyway on this list. Compare that to who we have added since 2012
Jezz, When the list needed a shake up in 2012 Mick sat on his hands. He didnt trade. It was obvious to the whole football world what needed to be done but his ego got the better of him. In the end we lost blokes for nothing, we held on to others for too long and he made stupid trades for his mates and Bulldog reserve players.
His work at Carlton was terrible.
Your post is a complete lie but never let the truth get in the way of small minded bias.
In 2012 when Malthouse arrived everyone was contracted, he couldn't cut anyone
In 2013 Malthouse told the board to rebuild and 10 to 12 went in 2013 and 2014
Malthouse "good" or Malthouse "bad" is not the issue but don't rewrite history and claim that he stuffed the place based on a trade here or there. If you think 32 year old Waite (who MM wanted to Keep) or Lazy Garlett are the change factors, keep living in denial in your simple world where the next coach is going to make all the difference. Let me spell it out for you
LIST
Board
Development
COACH
Why is there a mick v ratts debate?
One could coach with our list and the other couldnt. Give mick the hawks to coach and he would make finals. Give him a team without a complete spine and he has no idea.
Ratts was a better coach then a lot give him credit for. Hawks midfield went up a cog since he joined clarko. Now they are looking at a 3peat. Carltons midfield was also regarded as a grade before murphy and carrots were lost to season ending injuries.
I just laugh at the mick v rats comparisons. Ratts probably had more wins than pagan and mm combined
