I suspect Everitt, Cripps, Gibbs and Murphy will all come up ok, but Armfield, Menzel and Jamison didn't look great.
Tutt has to be dropped. Can we afford to delist him this year? If so, do it.
I think Wood needs to be dropped for team balance; oh to still have Hampson on the list instead of Warnock.
Henderson to defence, as I've said most of the year, and he'll still probably kick 20 goals for the season just from drifting up forward. Might as well try Rowe up forward if we want to persist with White & Fields in defence.
Ideally, and assuming fitness:
Out: Tutt, Wood, Fields, Carrazzo
In: Docherty, Dick, Rowe, Walker
I don't mind the idea of trying Rowe forward and putting Hendo back. It's a bit of a desperate move, but Hendo certainly looks more effective in defence. I don't have confidence that Jones or Watson would do better than Rowe, and at least Rowe will consistently compete at either end. Rowe would have to play as 2nd ruck too, because Casboult seems to relish being left as a permanent forward. Wood unlucky, but for team balance he may need to make way.
Don't agree with dropping Fields for Dick.
Might need to get Yarran forward.
Assuming Jamo, Gibbs, Murphy, Cripps, Cripps, Everitt & Menzel are OK-
B: Simmo Jamo Fields
HB: Tuohy Hendo Buckley
C: Gibbs Cripps Docherty
HF: Bell Casboult Walker
F: Everitt Rowe Yarran
R: Kreuzer Curnow Murphy
Inter: Carrazzo Menzel White
Sub: Holman
In- Docherty, Rowe, Walker
Out- Armfield (inj), Tutt, Wood
I dropped Fields for Rowe and replaced Wood's spot in the side with Dick ('like for like' jokes will ensue no doubt), otherwise you're operating 4 talls at one end when Kreuzer is in the ruck. It's too tall; way too tall considering how only Jamison and Everitt can be considered as possessing elite speed for their size. We cannot afford to be that slow against any AFL side. Richmond exploited us last night for it.
Dick either keeps Walker out of midfield or releases one of our small/medium defenders into midfield/HF. Perhaps Yarran, perhaps Buckley, perhaps Tuohy. Dealer's choice based on last night really, though Buckley did spoil Deledio plenty while he was up forward.
