Can this thread be re-named the John "Whoosha" Worsfold Aspergers Thread?

Rubbish generalisation

I've worked for billionaires.

They get to where they are because they build talent. They recognise you need talent around you.

I've come to know at least one and he dedicates his life to making more by developing them. He's 30 something and self made.

That's obviously in a field they understand.
Yes billionaires do bring in talent.. Judd malthouse swann SOS

Just start from the ground up is what I am saying. The thought that the heads would fly to Brisbane to see Aish justsshits me personally which included Silvangi.
As the psych stated last years recruiting was shameful and he seriously couldn't believe we did it. Every recycled hack every young un missed is another step backwards for this club which can't have too many more

:yikes: You couldn't dreeam up how bad we have been. Read the HS today and Triggs comments that we are restricted because of our contract situation. Bloody Hell with our list there should be heaps of room but there isn't. Just another reason we need to go for the kids. This is going to take years to turn around even if we get things right now.

Trigg talks about how difficult things are due to our player contracts...

Um, Mick Malthouse brought that up in his FIRST month at Carlton before he entered his first draft with us.

Daisy was signed between these two identical comments.

Anything been done to change anything?

The Way things are going, I might get a 4 year Contract as a homeless begger, to work just in front of the Club office and the Pokies... that might Generate some good Revenue for the Club.... :donk: :donk: :donk:

Just shows what a mess we have been and still are.

There is no system or proper assessment in anything we do.

Thomas 5 years, Jones 3 years, Dick & Tutt 2 years. Why? The first is injury prone and overrated and the last 3 couldn't get games at there previous clubs. So what do we do? Offer them contracts and more money than they were previously getting. FFS.

Where was our due diligence? Who's decision was it? None are any good and none are players you would get when you are rebuilding. Not only are they list cloggers but they will tie up our TPP for years to come. If Carlton was a business people would be sacked, a full review completed and new people and a plan would be put in place.

Agree. I would be interested to know who's idea and who instigated trading pick 7 for Jaksch/Whiley?

Imagine having Pick 7, 19, 28, 46 (Jones), 60 & 63 and then picking Ahern, LaVerde, Howe, Gregson, Sinclair, Smith. That is what can happen in one draft. Still specualtive but would we feel a lot better about our list and it's future then?

True albeit speculative. That's a fair few picks.

If Jaksch really wanted to come to us I'm sure we could have paid a pick 28 or PSD...but then again I'm being speculative.

Is pick 7 worth a third tall? My concern is I don't see him as a key position player, too skinny and I can't see him getting bigger. We could of had Ahern Duggan Cockatoo Ellis or Garlett?

No offense but how do you know he won't become a primary key post? What do you mean you can't see him getting bigger? He is 20.

I am just saying don't be so quick to make assumptions.

There was only one mistake with the Judd deal and that was throwing Kennedy in with picks 3 & 20.

We should have held fast at picks 3 & 20 but we blinked.

Ablett went to Gold Coast for Picks 10 & 15.

Ablett's move to GC wasn't a trade. As it was the AFL dudded the Cats massively with the compensation.

If we'd finished bottom in 2007 we'd have held all the cards and could be as aggressive as many wanted us to be.

As it was Richmond still had pick 1 in the pre-season draft and had Judd departed the Eagles for nowt - i can't imagine the Eagles would've allowed that, nor would Judd have left in such circumstances - Richmond would've gladly met any and all demands.

The issue is, had we screwed the Eagles over we'd have entered Collingwood and Essendon** territory in terms of trading. No one would want to deal with us and would hold a grudge over the fact we got a 'bargain' with Judd. Everyone would want their pound of flesh in negotiating with us and the conversation would always go back to,"yeah, but you screwed the Eagles."

We had to do the right thing and we did. Fair trade for all involved, really.

I admire our good guy philosophy.
Look where that has got us since.
Jaksch Jones Dick Tutt ........

If we had Kennedy to straighten us up and built around him and Judd we would have been an attractive club to come to....instead we picked every KP player available in one year Mitchum McCarthy Watson and got duds with everyone when we could have bolstered our midfield.
