Would really like to see them getting games in to Jaksch. IMO he needs game time to build confidence. He's got the skills, just needs to feel comfortable and confident at AFL level. We appear to be 1 tall short too, so why not give him some more exposure.
Jaksch can build confidence in the VFL without getting ragdolled.
White, Rowe and Everitt will be our defensive talls for the game. All I'm hoping is that Buckley and Simpson aren't manning blokes deep in defence, and work back rather than start back.
Jaksch is in his 3rd season of AFL. It's time to get continual exposure to the level and build confidence by improving his game against better players.
Everitt shouldn't be a tall defender either IMO. He plays his best footy pushing forward as an attacking option and being a link player through the midfield.
Jaksch would be 90 kilos wringing wet, and we need foot soldiers right now to grind some confidence back into the squad.
If he has a blinder in the VFL, then we can revisit. He is 2 months into his career with us after a reasonable pre-season, and he will need rest weeks to regain fitness and confidence.
Everitt plays his best football forward of centre when he drifts in rather than as a consistent lead option, and is frankly looking slow in midfield, so running off HB would utilise his skill set nicely.
That said we may well play him forward, with Docherty as the 3rd tall.
