If Kreuzer was fit I'd bring him in for Smith or Buckley.
FB: Docherty Jamison Tuohy
HB: Yarran Jaksch Simpson
CC: Gibbs Murphy Bell
HF: Boekhorst Everitt Thomas
FF: Menzel Casboult Buckley
RR: Wood Cripps Judd
Int: Curnow Graham Armfield
Sub: Smith
- Buckley must play FP/HF/Wing
- Everitt can be the third tall defender if we need one
- Casboult to play permanent forward; Wood vs Mumford with assistance from Everitt/Cripps/Gibbs in 3rd man up.
How would you know Whiley is not fit enough?
He runs where is opponent runs to under instruction. IMHO, it's ridiculous playing a bloke as a tagger when his lead in games were hunting the ball in the VFL. He won the ball well, created well and used the ball very well in the VFL. Then he's bought into the AFL and told to shut down the oppositions best player.
We have far too many players at the moment who are second guessing every contest. Apart from our midfield, our structures are non existent. There's no semblance of a team defence. The players get the ball only when they have to and kick the shit out of it to give themselves a moments respite. Our forwards are making it up as they go.
Once players are resistant to involving themselves for fear of failure, the jig is up. And to amplify the problem, players are being abused for making errors when trying to create.
I have never seen AFL players so unsure of their role and so resistant to involvement. We need players who have a competitive instinct. The current environment is totally counterproductive to that.
