This sounds like a joke but it's not.
I heard from 4th hand sources that M Voss has been spoken to by Carlton re next year. In what capacity, I don't know.
I heard it 2 weeks ago and thought it was ridiculous.
I now understand that ridiculous is what we do.

There's no doubt the fish rots from the head and that is the root of our crisis.
But the blow torch might turn on the players more so now from a mainstream media point of view.
Gibbs was pathetic on the most public of stages. Carrying niggles or not. Even some of his defenders are starting to drop off.
The club may simply choose to trade one or some of our senior players who are serial offenders to prove we are serious about changing the group culture.
There has to be repercussions for last night and this shit bag of a season.
Start with the coach and keep turning the list over until we get the players we need. Some like minded mates for Cripps, the Irish boys and Co.
You can cop losing to a superior side as you rebuild if your boys have a crack but not the steaming pile of turd that was dished up last night.

how did it come to this? we had 4 potentially good ruckman on our list during the Ratten era and now we are relying on a retread like Wood to lead our ruck division. Collingwood realised about 5 years ago that he wasn't up to it. We should start believing other teams' assessments when someone is no good (eg Jones). They are better at it than us.

They traded a sub-20 pick to Brisbane for him. We got a good deal for Warnock, but he never kicked on, and we signed him up for too long when we brought him over.

It was an awful contract and rather than try and move him on or ripping it up and taking the hit, we discarded two blokes who would give more total effort on the football field consistently in Jacobs and Hampson. Would have been happy to have either one in the team last night.

He can't stop talking about his time at Collingwood on 3AW. He is here for the wrong reasons.

His comment about wins is what's needed and it's wins that will get him reappointed is what concerned me. If he isn't winning he can understand if he wasn't given a new contract.

Surely it's about bringing the next group through and seeing improvement. Is Mick & the club on the same page?

What about the discussion on the 2013 draft - he had no idea apart from Cripps who we actually picked?? I'm sorry but this guy is supposed to be full time isn't he???

Let me fill you in Mick - Giles and Holman and not sure who after that. And have those two even played one game yet??

Answered this in the post-match thread: West Coast play NicNat and Lycett, but you've got Kennedy up forward and NicNat in that scenario.

Lycett got dropped this week.

Unless you have a significant bow to your game, you can't play two rucks that are the same player. Nic Nat is a freak and is the most mobile ruckman there is, he hasn't been successful with Lycett as a pair.

Has Nic Nat officially taken a mark this year yet? He hadn't after the first 3 rounds.

Incredibly overrated

Given that Giles & Holman have 1 AFL game between them, and Giles has spent most of his time at the CFC on the LTI list, can you blame him? Holman is not a memorable face in every sense of the phrase.

These are silly things, but I understand why people can consider them glib or callous, and try and reflect that back on Mick personally. I'd imagine Mick has a lot on his mind right now and his focus, like that of every player at the club, would be a bit all over the shop at the moment.

NicNat may not be taking grabs, but his run and spread and the opportunities and pressure that creates are exceptional for a player of his stature. He's about to hit his prime years, and I think he'll average 18-20 possessions a game doing what he does. If he manages to take some marks then he's going to have a huge influence on contests.

Averaging 32 hitouts a game this season.

I've heard something along those lines as well...

Voss is currently the midfield coach at Port Adelaide.

Is Voss a good head coach?

Didn't exactly do wonders at Brisbane. Couldn't keep Fev in check.

This was the point Sellers and Co made on the ABC.

I wonder if Mick thinks he deserves the money he gets.

I reckon McChins thinks Mick deserves it.

His 3aw interview today confirmed in my mind that he took on Carlton job totally and utterly unprepared and is now completely overwhelmed with the gravity of the situation.

And unfortunately, that ain't his fault.
