I'm starting to think Southby is just a sock puppet for the club...
Also, bleh. Rogers clearly had minimal say in this year's ND picks (Smith was Wiley's favourite, Boekhurst was highly needs based via coach, DVR was another coach-influenced but had been a favourite of one of the other recruiters).
Then you've got his RD picks in Gowers, Walsh & Fields. I understand all of them, but I'm not a massive fan of the Walsh pick, and also not selecting a ruckman to develop. There was clearly some tension there in regards to when not to pull the trigger on a type, and Rogers doesn't feel comfortable with the current form or level of the scrutiny.
Hopefully for us that's because he's not up to scratch outside the talent ID component of his job.
Jimmae.
Sentence 1 I know nothing about so can't comment.
The next 3 paragraphs are total bullshit and you should refrain from sprouting stuff you know SFA about.
Regards CazzesmanCazz all I've said is that he was given a mandate to deliver some types in the ND, and he was made to work within that frame. That's minimal say for his role, but I can understand how you can take that to mean 'next to no say'. Wiley has openly stated that he coached Smith at U16s and was a fan, last week in fact, so to suggest he wouldn't be running through walls to have him called out in the 4th round is silly.
The rest is me reiterating SR's own words about his options in the RD, at least in the post-ND wash up, followed by my own opinion on those picks, as well as hoping that we didn't just shoot ourselves in the foot by firing a competent and capable employee (or allowing him to walk).
I mean if I'm having some sort of high-functioning hallucination and the words I see on the screen aren't the words appearing on your screen, by all means shoot me full of tranquillisers and send me to the loony bin, but otherwise come on everyone: we're all on the same team here.
