Would be very disappointing if Levi was not given lots of time this year. He took some big steps last year ... and I reckon he is just about ready to dominate.
I would play Kreuz and Levi. Let Kreuz ruck most of the time then swap with Levi for short spells in the forward line.
I agree about Levi. He has just continued to improve each year since he was taken as a heavy set rookie.
He was in the media for his Lowey like buckets and other teams were hovering for his signature.
The same cant be said for Warnock. Levi has qualities highly valued in AFL.
I bet Warnock took his spot as no 1 ruck for granted prior to 2014 season: more so when Kreuzer went down. His efforts reflected his conditioning and mindset IMO because I've seen Warnock play better than he showed in 2014.He became useless and a passenger. I bet he didn't see Wood taking his spot. Cunning fellow that MM.
For Warnock to feature ahead of Kreuzer - Levi combo he has to show ability to mark the ball as a forward and around the ground. He needs to kick some goals and hit the ball to advantage in the ruck. If not, why bother carrying him. Frankly I think he's way behind Kreuzer and Levi but I'm sure he's being coached to improve the areas of weakness and if he can get super fit ..... Don't count on anything till the new season 2015 starts.
2014 is finished. Every player has a couple of months to stake a spot in the first 30, let alone top 25 or 22.
I think all best 22 teams should also include emergencies, because there will have injuries every round including finals. If we don't we will be a top 4 team.
Expect Jones Tutt Dick and Boekhurst to play games.
I can't see Whiley and Jaksch missing out if fit.
Warnock and Wood have plenty of incentive to perform.
Walsh is a driven man.
We have depth and plenty of possibilities.
I like to pick teams with 3 talls forward and 3 talls back because there are times we will have to to match up or to give us an advantage. Thankfully our talls are mobile and can mark. Don't be scared of 6 talls if we have pace and stamina around the ground...Yarran, Murphy, Docherty, Thomas, Judd, Everitt, Walker, boekhurst, Simpson.....hey even Army is there if needed for a role requiring pace...tag Rioli.
