Don't under estimate the influence of Ablett

Don't under estimate the very poor decision to pay Scully a salary not to far from G Ablett.

Bring SOS in. I would be happy to give him at least six months to turn us into a premiership side

Heavily discounted Ryan Griffen & Joel Patfull, geez, what was full retail then?

WTF?
Why are you so happy to accept mediocrity???
Goltzenberg and Redback would never put up with that sh%t.

6 months for SOS to win us a flag???
Is he taking the piss? Hawthorn and Port will win 10 in the next 6 months.
2 months is more than fair

SOS isn't coming. He is contracted with GWS until 2016.

I bet you he is.

Wouldn't mind SOS back at the Club in some capacity, but not sure about the List Manager part.
At the end of the day, he and his whole family bleed Navy Blue, and it would be great to have him back here and help heal the wounds that to an extent still exist from the Salary Cap fiasco.

SOS may be useful for working one on one with our defenders, but thats about it. Failed as a commentator (possibly the worst I have ever heard), failed as an assistant coach, and keeps getting sent further into the back office as a "list manager". Nothing but jobs for the boys. He is one of the luckiest blokes going around to still be deriving an income from footy.

"If ever there was a time for a SOS, this is it

YOU can’t accuse Carlton of sitting on their hands when it comes to luring former great Stephen Silvagni back to the club.
Just 24 hours after news leaked out that SOS was pulling up stumps at GWS after becoming disillusioned during the recent trade period, the Blues footy boss Andrew McKay caught up for a coffee yesterday with the Team of the Century full-back.
Officially the club is saying it was just a “see where you’re at” chat but take it to the bank that SOS will be part of the Blues football department in 2015.
It had been thrown up that SOS — who has another year of his contract to run at GWS — may sit out next year because he didn’t want to be compromised with his oldest son, Jack, likely to be taken as a father-son selection.
New Blues president Mark LoGiudice is a close friend of Silvagni’s and has been in his ear for months about returning home."

If Brisbane Blues' inside word from GWS was anything to go by I'm not sure whether SOS will all that much a valuable addition to our Football Department.

Depends on whether he quit after the trade period or was fired.

I don't really care about the fact he's an "old boy" or not, the most important thing to consider is whether he has actually proved himself an astute or skilled list manager.

He had years of top picks gifted to him, near impossibe to stuff up and in the first year of an uncompromised draft, the mass exodus begins and he 'resigns.'

I'm not convinced he's got the skills to do what we need.

To be fair, he's not bad at producing potential recruits. If one of his boys is half decent then that's probably the best recruiting and list management move he could ever make.
