Mick said there were things we haven't gotten right and wouldn't reveal what they were to the "certified media professionals."

What a meanie flower

just watched last week's presser again with the Sam Lane exchange. Sure he was a bit curt, but the reaction to his comments has been way over the top.

We saw nothing last week that we haven't seen in recent years. No better and certainly no worse.

The criticism of him is a sideshow, totally irrelevant to the main game. The ability for the media to overhype a story is continually astounding, especially in the flip-flop world of AFL media.

Maclure says he hasn't seen any improvement. Okay, taking a simple win/loss look at Mick's results that is a fair comment. However he has made big improvements in a number of players. Dig a bit deeper and you begin to get a sense of the size of the task at hand.

I think we forget how flaky and how mentally weak our playing group is. It was the team's biggest flaw under Ratts and it's clearly taking a lot longer to rectify than anyone thought.

I admit I had expected better/quicker results from Mick and I waver regularly in my thoughts as to whether he's the right coach for us, but please let's not get carried away with the fact he can be a prick in a press conference.

Thought Maclure allowed himself to become part of the overreaction much to easily .

It was a Bruce Matheison type performance.

Don't like Mick and I think he's made numerous blunders but Sellers should recognise when he's being used like a circus monkey.

MLG has been pretty good.

I'm a bit the same. Good coach, poor club ambassador is the way I see it. Every so often he gets his head pulled in. Good.

I like what he is doing playing and player wise. The reality is he inherited a list on the slide that struggles under real pressure and it will take him a while to get it all right. Recruiting and Development now the keys to our future.

The improvement in Rowe, White, Yarran, Robinson, Buckley, Gibbs, Curnow, Casboult show things are improving and we rarely get blown away. I have no doubt Cripps, Graham, Docherty, Menzel will be good players. There is a base there to work on.

Agree Cimm, Mark LoGiudice conducted matters well this week and things have been difficult, lately.
He was professional and articulate passionate and astute Carlton President so refreshing for a change.
Gradually all the early detractors will disappear.
Hope we have good news re Everitt and Menzel.
Go Baggers

Hats off to MLG, is it possible that we finally have a decent pres? And CB you're right, his presser last week was the same as he dishes up most weeks. It was his irrational rant at Ling and pasting paper to the press box, that was most concerning. His main problem is a total inability to admit fault, be self critical, or honest. It will be easy to improve next year as we have been horribly underperforming this year, but we are 5-10 years from being a contender. I couldn't stand a decade more of self righteous, vicious insecure Mick.

Couldn't get out of last night's presser quick enough... hates the media.

Well, MLG should sack him from pressers and get Wiley, who is far more amiable, to do them and adjust their pay packets accordingly. It's best for the club.

Do like what Mick has done with players such as Rowe, Menzel, Gibbs, Murph and a few others.

Micks good at some things but shithouse at others.
Club should identify this and rebuild the FD personnel accordingly.

Sellers has built a reputation on speaking his mind and the truth but he over uses it. It has got to the stage where he almost has to make over the top comments to fill his personality role on these shows. I reckon he believes what he says (most of the time) but no way as emphatically as he dishes out on TV.

Stevo is bordering on a Hutchy type gutter journo.
Asks so many dumb questions.
Says so many dumb things.
Has embarrassed himself countless times throughout the Essendon* Drugs Affair with the crap he's assumed.

Nice touch for the Prez to get along to the magoo match today and mingle with the grassroots rank and file supporter.....................the bloke has the common touch.Whether he will be a success or not i dont know, but i reckon he is the sort of bloke who is going to give it his all,and you cant knock that.Never knock a trier i say.

Well big kudos to our new president. That article certainly takes the sting out of the media. Its not new to me , but the content should be read as pretty accurate even though it was probably a piece organised by mark our new president. I cant imagine that sticks would have the foresight to do this sort of thing. But sticks you are a fantastic clubman, one of the best ever, so that is not designed to be a knock on sticks, just a statement of fact....that sticks was a little out of his depth as our president.
As for maclure, i have fond memories of watching this thing called the blue print last year. This year you have trashed it. Cheap , ill thought out rants have reduced the show to a joke.
I cant believe that there are still some mick detractors out there. We are seeing what real development is about

Rowe
White
Casboult
Murphy
Gibbs
Menzel
Yarran
Buckley
Curnow
Henderson
Docherty
Everitt

They are all surprising us, their real development being hidden by our infamous fadeouts and consequent losses . Its there to see and quite obvious if you want to. Many dont.
