Cretylus, can you categorically right now state whether you will or won't produce the statistics related to the past 6 years of comparative drafting between Carlton and Port Adelaide? The first 400 times you were asked and didn't address it I thought you may have just missed the request...now I'm starting to think there may be some mental deficiency (in addition to those already known) which render you unable to see those words in combination together.
Will you or won't you produce the statistics? It's a yes or no answer. I'm sick of Synbad asking you, I'm sick of you squibbing the response and I'm sick of you trotting out the same tiny tidbit stat and windbagging "ladies and gentleman" crap. Every longwinded post you make is wasted words that could be producing something more beneficial to proving your point.
Will you do it? YES/NO. Simple.
Everybody knows and understands the drafting record of our club - and the problems existed way before even Wayne Brittain,
Player Development, strong leadership, a club culture of honesty, workrate etc - everybody knows the jargon. We use to have it. We lost it....
I don't blame Ratts or Sticks or this person or Oligarchs on boards for our current state. And I don't blame Mick either. Its very much a club issue. I do like comparison though - and the Hinkley/Malthouse comparison is a very interesting one don't you think?
Take up your frustration with Mr S if you think that Ratts destroyed the club.
Remember Laidler is a prime example of a Ratts recruit that leaves, and is instantly a regular starter in a team that Mick has said has the best list depth EVER in the history of the game - what does that tell you?
(incidentally, I wont be annoyed if you don't answer or respond to my questions or posts - The Great Cretylus-Synbad polemic will continue ladies and gentlemen)
That's a no, gotcha. I don't need to talk to Synbad because you choose to deflect.
What does Laidler getting a run in the Swans backline as third banana tell me after being cut from Carlton for not being up to it? It tells me when premiership defender Alex Johnson returns from LTI that the stopgap Laidler will be cast to the 2s for the remainder of his time at the Swans unless he wants to find a fourth club.
You like stats...how'd he go tonight? 9 touches, no impact. It's easy for a player in the bottom six (probably bottom 2) of the 2012 premiership team, a team a game clear on top of the ladder coming off 12 straight wins, to be hidden and hidden well.
Laidler is the scraping of their backline barrel, a stopgap and nothing more, and we were right to cut him. The difference between Sydney and Carlton is that they have 19/22 guns on the field with reasonable depth and development...we have 5/22 at best, and even they are flaky. We simply don't have the team to carry a Laidler, and I can't see him doing any better than a Rowe or White at this point in time...he's certainly not doing better than that for Sydney.
