Wojee can you tell me where you found it and how it was broken to you?

Why wasnt it broken by the mainstream media instead it was broken by non maninstream media

Why wouldnt someone go to the Herald sun with that?
And why was the mainstream papers not telling us about secret deals with Abbot and corporations instead they were telling us about Alavi?
2 reasons

People are too dumb to understand what deregulations means
And they dont want to put it headlines because headlines implies something important.. like 'baby George's first steps'.... or Kate's ass was flashing...or maybe interest rates stay the same....
Or 'Bombers Crisis'

I'm more than happy for people to get excited by the Teletubbies at the bottom of their personal gardens (as deluded as I think they are) and I have a large amount of sympathy for those who feel that the commercial world of late capitalism is infringing on their social comfort zones but the idea that we should build a fence around a specifically Christian public holiday in a country that should be proud of its multicultural credentials is essentially crap.

We have one its Easter... and ANZAC day is a fence around sacrificing people in futility for war.
Most people dont like war... thats why they always advertise for young people to join in the army / navy / airforce for good money and dont tell talk about war....
and we have a tiny army anyway....

why dont they advertise joining the military by showing us peoples legs being blown off.. or running through all those names of soldiers killed in afghanistan.. with photos of the a good chunk of young people coming back without limbs and say "Join the Army for some adventure"?

People arent warmongers my nature and as a demographic its a very different bunch of people that were in Turkey during the Great War... so why celebrate it ?

If we keep changing traditions of the nation each time a demographic changes... pretty soon the main holiday will be Chinese New Year .. i dont have any problem with that by the way....

But i still reckon a huge chunk of the population celebrate Easter
And its the only non corporate ruined day.. so why change it?

One thing is for sure .. ive never heard Buddhists or Muslims say it should go....
Just people with other agendas....

It was reported on The Today Show. Pretty mainstream I'd have thought.

It's an Easter miracle!

Will I be watching the Good Friday NRL match? No, because I don't care for Rugby colleague any more since the Super League wars.
My life is no better for having it available, nor is it any worse. Nor is society any worse off one way or the other.
I like the idea of Good Friday footy, and love the thought that it may link with a traditional charity in Melbourne for the good of the RCH. That the powers that be seem to be promoting two moderate drawing clubs seems ill-advised for mine, because it will lessen the extra the crowd and AFL can tip in to the RCH charity, which is a shame.

I guess look at it from the other direction: will my life be hollow boring and pointless if there isn't footy? Not at all. Certainly no more dull than it is now.

That the AFL seems to be rending itself and working itself into a state of paralysis over the issue for many years says more about the amateurish nature of the way the people who run the game operate, and the lame attempts at trying to become a true professional corporate entity.

No game to be played on Good Friday next year. Season will start on the Thursday night before which involves Carlton V Richmond.

Bullshit Dane. Everyone knows Mick is the reason there's no footy on Good Friday.

If Mick was more sensitive to other religions this would have never been an issue. Evil bastard.

Unsure how you could Dane, given how every other challenge confronting the club is the direct result of Evil Mick's Evil Bastard machinations.

I wonder where he finds the time in the day to juggle all his evil plans, in combination with his single minded vision to ensure the Carlton list is the worst in AFL history by 2017.

There will be a Bond movie made about this, wait and see.
