Understand plenty....

...........and you are right.

but so am I.

Curious that the board didn't recognise one of their own don't you think?

Good opinion piece.
I fear our current president wouldn't really understand both the context and the subtext of it, though. Teddy would have to bring it down to BBQ conversation levels. Over a couple of Crownies.

I'm liking the media spotlight on our shitfulness, please let it continue.

I found it most interesting how he referred to the card that didn't actually have Carlton on it ... says it all really.

Gimmicks.

rather than hard work, commitment and above all else everything for carlton ... its gimmicks and central pieces of brillance, its a slogan, its a player, its a theme. its as if the board has allowed the marketing to take over the club.

get the flashy player, not the work horse, get the player that will sell memberships not the bloke that will give 110% to wear the jumper

#united ... just another rubbish example of what the club is about at the moment.

the only hashtags I want to see for this club is

#Hardwork #Commitment #Effort #Carlton

the rest is all bullshit and means nothing. and that applies from boardlevel to bootstudder.

how did they do this???

well india was pretty easy really..
it already was separated by many religious and cultural divisions and there was the caste system too.
divide and rule

we need a leader that can bring this club together... rich and poor .. young and old..

there has been so much infighting and fence building its not funny...
and of course we have the very curious situation of the dummy president and the portrait....

The line above about needing a leader that can bring this club together, is just so true. Not much more needs to be said.

Not the 150th year the club had anticipated.

The 100th was shit too.

He calls it suspicion, I call it plain old raw fear. Ever since what Elliott did with the 'never rebuilding' and the salary cap bungle. Fear is what governs the club's decisions - recruiting, coaching appointments... everything!

Nothing wrong with having a flashy player or two on the list but the club doesn't even get that right and it's always drip fed. Who do we have that fits the mold? Yarran, Menzel, Walker? Some may be 'flashy' in one quality and totally inept in another. If we were really into the 'fashy' over the workmanlike then we'd have Darling on the list and not Watson and we would never have bothered with Rowe, Okeefe, Browne, Davies, Temay and the like.

The company was started in 1996 and visiting Carlton, I found, it was the stodgiest and least-receptive club in terms of accepting and listening to innovations. The club had endured the John Elliot horror show and the fallout and suspicion was palpable.

referring to players like Thomas, I think we would have been better to have kept the coin and use the pick we would have got for Betts etc..
