I found it most interesting how he referred to the card that didn't actually have Carlton on it ... says it all really.
Gimmicks.
rather than hard work, commitment and above all else everything for carlton ... its gimmicks and central pieces of brillance, its a slogan, its a player, its a theme. its as if the board has allowed the marketing to take over the club.
get the flashy player, not the work horse, get the player that will sell memberships not the bloke that will give 110% to wear the jumper
#united ... just another rubbish example of what the club is about at the moment.
the only hashtags I want to see for this club is
#Hardwork #Commitment #Effort #Carlton
the rest is all bullshit and means nothing. and that applies from boardlevel to bootstudder.
Nothing wrong with having a flashy player or two on the list but the club doesn't even get that right and it's always drip fed. Who do we have that fits the mold? Yarran, Menzel, Walker? Some may be 'flashy' in one quality and totally inept in another. If we were really into the 'fashy' over the workmanlike then we'd have Darling on the list and not Watson and we would never have bothered with Rowe, Okeefe, Browne, Davies, Temay and the like.
