Watch how much Hapson develops without having a spud ruck coach in Capauano.
In fairness I don't blame Capuano.
I have said it numerous times before. Look what happens when a "Ruckman" is given the No.1 role on their own. I thought Hampson was good last night as was Warnock. Jacobs has thrived, Minson, Goldstein etc. Look at young Nichols from GCS last year. Starred when Smith went down injured and had to do it himself.
Ruckman need to play in the ruck and stay in the ruck.
.....Mumford when he went to Sydney, Maric in 2012 at Richmond, etc etc. Agree 100%.
Only similar combinations to ours that work are Bellchambers/Ryder and Cox/NicNat and not one of our rucks has the right mix of athleticism or forward ability of any of these guys.
..let me clarify.. ..ryder was a kpp that managed to become a ruck, though you don't want him fulltime rucking.. ..but as a kpp first and foremost, yes he ought to be better around the ground than a ruck.. .otherwise it's only bellchambers that is very good up fwd, and he is.. ..otherwise, krooz for fwd work last season does just as well, and in some categories even better.. ..and he does it without the benefit of good kpf around him.. ..themreason our ruck combo struggles is it isn't a true ruck combo.. ..knockers will still ruck the lion share cos he can't play anywhere else, that is a true ruck comboit is knockers ith krooz back up and that is a waste..,
