te ones that are maintaining a 33,000 capacity venue?
oh ok.... :screwy:

nothing to do with revenue... its about sheer volume..... keeping it small and tight in a small minded persons idea of growth......

by the way surrey... how do we pay for the renovations???

ill ask u too mosquito....

the renovations to build a 33,000 capacity uper stadium were going to grow a numbers in..
navy blue horse

yes!!! surrey is going to demonstrate how the suburban ground clubs are the heavyweights... i call this another surreism

back up your comments surrey
were not a heavyweight because we dont have a 33000 stadium to play in thats falling over?
if you keep throwing up ridiculous comments with nothing to back it up.. how does anybody take you seriously?

maybe we deserve to play at a 33000 capacity stadium.... were heading that way.

not because of where we play .. but because of what were doing.

you make too many throwaway comments.. you make them most people throw them the @#$%&! away....
thats a surreism,

explain how we find the 30 to 50 million to rebuild the ground into a 33,000 capacity stadium that will be included in the home and away fixtures and we can still make money
beating a dead stadium is ridiculous!!!..its not going to happen.. it was never going to happen.. will never happen... and we are not stuffed because of that one thing.
we spent too much money and time on that as it is... it cost us already!.. were broke. !!!.. and were backward as a club and that is one of the major reasons.. the mentality of exactly that is the rusty mentality and one of the ridiculous excuses as to why were not progressing

Lets see what excuses we give as to why were crap
the AFL hate us...
We didnt get Goddard
We cant play on the Dome...
We dont have a 33,000 fortress stadium ..
anything else?

could it be that were not a powerhouse club because of how we are directing ourselves forwards not backwards?

i await your logical reply with high expectation surrey

just to recap what i srongly believe... we need to grow our club not shrink it further surrey
shrinking it is bad........ growing it is good....

grow >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shrink

lets think about growing the club beyond the 33,000 capacity ... do you think thats a ripper idea or a shithouse one??

There is an answer: AFL don't buy Etihad when it comes up, and renovated princes park instead. The debate came up last year, AFL need an AAMI Park style boutique stadium. We could be that.

I'm megaserious. Look back on the thread last year; AFL were posturing somewhat with Etihad, but it is possible. Requires vision, balls, and a can-do attitude

And it would be the AFL's ground, not ours. Whatever connection people had with the club would be gone. Training on the outside ovals because of 'ground management'. Just not going to work.

Visy Park is [REDACTED] as an AFL Ground

The Gardiner Stand is a death trap
The Hero's stand is a too small
The legends stand is an architectural disaster (unless you like sitting there staring into the sun)
The Pratt stand is a wreck
The Heatley stand is gone
There is nowhere to park
There is not a railway station in sight
The Northern wing of the ground has been made smaller due to the new training complex
The visiting team & umpires change rooms are virtually non existent
Getting lights would be very difficult
And most of all you have the local residents

Agree:- the solution?

1. Knock down Princes Park and return it entirely to the tree hugging left wing residents.
2 Build a new Princes Park that is at the north end/university end of Princes Park
3. Provide car parks for the University to use during the week
4. Provide an off ramp from the new East West Link
5. A few more trams from Flinders Street

Our current Board would not have the courage, vision or conviction to do it..

girl : hmm - i have always loved you but do you support carlton being at the G, or do you think we should base ourselves at the 33k seat visy park?

guy: are you surreyous!?!?!

girl: this is very important dear

guy: anyone with half a brain knows visy park is unsustainable as a modern day afl venue

girl: slaps guy across the face and leaves.

guy: *forever alone*
