There is some pretty incredible stuff in this thread after rd 1.

I would definitely swap Kreuzer out for casboult. Not sure about who for walker yet, maybe Armfield if he's right to go.

Edit : wouldn't mind seeing the back of Robbo either- what he is is what he will be.

Port were considered the worst list in the league at the time. Off field almost in receivership.

one pre season later they start the year off with 5 consecutive wins. they make the finals, beat Collingwood at home, and had the cats on the ropes a week later. During the year won at least 4 games in spirited come backs.

In the meantime, Mick couldn't even start the pre season for 2 weeks due to a book launch and tour.

Oversaw a business as usual leadership group, that elected Murphy as skipper.

Played boring risk less footy around the wings during the year that didn't suit our list.

Was given a free finals pass due to the mess at the tullamarine poping headquarters.

Relied on a hopeless Tiger second half to win a final and then produced one of the worst performances by a Calrton team the following week. An unheard of team tackle count of 39.

A coach with experience and wisdom would know what to do, the moment they enter a new club. Hit the road running.

What was last year all about?

And nobody knows what this year will bring - they may turn it around quickly and play with spirit and intent....

don't hold your breath with this group of players....I don't trust them

How many here are going? I probably will, reluctantly though. Will we have to reserve a seat?

Totally disagree that Port were considered the worst list in the league.
They have been rebuilding almost since their grand final loss.
Stockpiling good kids.
Their only problem was convincing their kids to stay, which they managed.

I think their main difference is that they bottomed out and rebuilt more evenly than we did.

You'll all be shocked, but i aint betting on this one.

The Blues have had it over the Tigers 10 out of the last 11 times and we play better at the G. So all points to a Calrton win. Especially considering Richmond's shock loss last week. .............. however, it wasn't a 'Shock' to me as i backed the GC. Im expecting them to have a really impressive year!

Richmond are starting favorites at $1.72, so it's not worth it.

HOWEVER.............. Richmond over 40points is worth $5.
I might get on that as an emmotional bet. Just in case it happens i wont be so angry or sad!

I backed the Suns as well. The key to beating Richmond is easy - and all Mick has to do is copy what Guy McKenna did last week.

The Tigers were second in scores from stoppages last year and their record with 40+ clearances was 7-0. They had 47 against the Suns, but if Mick sees what GC did against them as stoppages - he'll figure it out. Big test to see how smart our coaches are. It ain't that hard.

Just so sick of all the negative vibes around the club. We better win this game....

As Richo would say, it will be a game of two halves.

(even if the siren goes after each quarter)

Judd injured
Carrots in the twos
Gibbs house hunting
Robbo kicking to the opposition
Bell (baaaaall Yeaaaaaaaah)

With Murphy doing just enough, we may need another all too rare stellar game from McLean and Ellard.

May be a good game to say hello to Mr Cripps or Mr Holman
