as a ruckman Kruezer is 2nd to none when it comes to follow up work at stoppages and overall his 1% ,s are very good, i just dont know why he misses marks he should take , averages over his career about 2.5 marks per game. just not enough to be anywhere near an elite footballer
Spot on. He really is over rated by our supporters. Has a lot of potential, but imo it's becoming less and less likely that he'll fulfill it.
I remember maybe 4 or 5 games he's played where you just think he's going to be a star, but sadly we haven't seen one for a while.
..already forgotton his games vs hawks and roos this year..?.. ..i reckon out of all our early picks, he's carrying the biggest expectations even though we realise he'll take longer to fully develop, [even though he's suffered the biggest setback injury wise to that development]
Against Hawks he was very good. And to be fair, I didn't see the roos game as I was at a music festival in Germany.
But that's just it, you've mentioned 2 games from the whole season. They are few and far between.
The games of his that stand out in my mind are:
circa 08 vs Port at AAMI, when we came back from 30 down at 3qt in the rain and Kreuz kicked 3 last quarter goals.
Comeback game from his knee vs Sydney at Etihad, absolutely dominated.
Round 3 against the pies in '11 when we got up by 10 goals
Round 1 against the tiges in '12 i think? From memory was BOG along with Gibbs.
These games made me think he could and should become the best ruckman in the league
I'm sure there are more but there's too many quiet games.
I'll admit I'm a harsh critic of Kreuzer but it's only because I know he could be so much better.
Mainly, he just needs to start taking marks. When our two ruckman don't take a mark between them in a whole game of footy, alarm bells ring for me.
