The NSW Member Network is pleased to advise that there will be a pre game get together at the Novotel, just outside ANZ Stadium, this Saturday from 5.30pm.

Hoping to see Dennis Armfield's dad there again. He will be the one with 27 shaved into his hair.

Spot on. He really is over rated by our supporters. Has a lot of potential, but imo it's becoming less and less likely that he'll fulfill it.
I remember maybe 4 or 5 games he's played where you just think he's going to be a star, but sadly we haven't seen one for a while.

..already forgotton his games vs hawks and roos this year..?.. ..i reckon out of all our early picks, he's carrying the biggest expectations even though we realise he'll take longer to fully develop, [even though he's suffered the biggest setback injury wise to that development]

Rohan and McVeigh struggling at training.

Goodes fine. No surprise as his injury was done 11 weeks ago, it's more fitness and touch his concerns.

Agree. Heard a few Sydney players radio interviews this week. They are not happy and are setting themselves up for this game. We won't know what hit us if we start slowly.
All I've heard from the Blues is how they feel like they can comeback from any position, so basically we can be lazy for a half and then turn it on when we feel like it.
This is a game were you can't allow Sydney to get 4-5 goals up, there smarter and better then Port and Richmond to allow a team to just overrun them.

Nothing to worry about.

Reckon the last 4 weeks have just been the fillip we needed.

We're actually going into this game with belief and confidence and whatever happens happens.

Went to bed last night with a copy of The Bloodbath by Ian Shaw, emerged today reinvigorated and resolved. Malthouse's record on this deck is impeccable. Carlton seems poised to put four quarters together . Bryce the "cat" to "Bryce the Panther". From first siren the boys are set to turn the Sydney's stadium into a Navy Blue gymnasium! As the Cramps once sang...and Twist.

The Swans have built their culture on "The spirit of the Bloods," Saturday's Carlton team should channel the spirit of "The '45 Blues" and Bob Chitty's fearsome wrecking ball attack on the Swans' dreams!

Slight concern where I'm concerned is with the grass. At Visy Park and the MCG it's straight rye grass. ANZ Stadium is turfed with Couch / Bermuda grass and is over-sown with rye grass for added protection and colour.

There is an NRL final on the Friday night. That grass for a Rugby League game is around 50mm-65mm. The AFL has a standard (although unwritten) rule that outfields must maintain cutting heights of between 25-35 mm. It would be remiss of our CEO to not get clarification from the AFL, who in turn - should request ANZ Stadium curators that the grass needs cutting.

Perhaps I should send a quick email through to Greg Swann. He should probably use the word 'Governance' in his note to AFL headquarters. It seems to have been bandied around lately.

yes to both you and bosman.
they will play their best those swans, and all we want is for our guys to do the same.
to standup when it counts. hopefully for 4/4 q's.
I admit I was relieved to hear Rohan did not train well, as he could be a dark horse for them.

Against Hawks he was very good. And to be fair, I didn't see the roos game as I was at a music festival in Germany.
But that's just it, you've mentioned 2 games from the whole season. They are few and far between.
The games of his that stand out in my mind are:
circa 08 vs Port at AAMI, when we came back from 30 down at 3qt in the rain and Kreuz kicked 3 last quarter goals.
Comeback game from his knee vs Sydney at Etihad, absolutely dominated.
Round 3 against the pies in '11 when we got up by 10 goals
Round 1 against the tiges in '12 i think? From memory was BOG along with Gibbs.
These games made me think he could and should become the best ruckman in the league

I'm sure there are more but there's too many quiet games.
I'll admit I'm a harsh critic of Kreuzer but it's only because I know he could be so much better.
Mainly, he just needs to start taking marks. When our two ruckman don't take a mark between them in a whole game of footy, alarm bells ring for me.
