I can think of three of the Richmond centre clearances that were the direct result of a Warnock tap to the chest of an opponent, one of whom was Maric himself. There were how many centre bounces? Let's see. 4 to start the quarters plus 30 after goals. We won 14 of 34, less than half. They won 12, about a third, if which we gifted them 3 and yet we still just scraped home. Brock got tackled three times before he took a step. Twice he got pinged. That's two more for Richmond, five in all. So we gave them 3 from hitouts and two frees because the tap went to an oppponent or to someone who was not in a position to do anything with it when we got it.
Don't hold that up as an example of good rucking.
There are many nuances of centre square work that you think you know about but obviously don't. There is more to it than quoting raw stats with no breaking them down.

Watch it again. He's a useless giraffe and there is a reason he played all his footy in the WAFL and now the VFL. Successive coaches have worked him out. Harvey, Ratten and now MM have all played him in the seconds. When Kreuzer is fit, Warnock will go straight back to the VFL where he belongs. Better we trade him than pay him to play there. He's a waste of salary cap space. And I don't recall his taking one contested mark yesterday. He's 206cm, has hands the size of dinner plates and he can't catch a ball that would be like a tennis ball to a normal sized person.
For all his faults, Hampson is a better prospect.

Very confused by the Holding the Ball rule in this game..... a few instances of players being grabbed straight away & not pretending well enough to try to handball it v. a few who were given a full 360degree spin / tackle and still no call...

How about being blanketed where it mattered? Players actually standing up when the game was on the line. Robbo actually thinking when he had the ball. 5 goals down and then the training load kicked in. Please. Ellis decided not to go near the ball. Riewoldt gave up. Cotchin decided to keep his best until the last 2 minutes. It's why our stars have been so shite this year.

They are locked in. Foolish to think they wouldn't be preparing. Look through the results of teams in the finals in years gone by. Look for upsets. You will see plenty. Collingwood , Hawthorn and Essendon** have been a lock for a while and look at their results over the last month. The tigers come out flying yesterday and then had concrete legs for 3 quarters.

We played well but we shouldn't get too carried away. Our problems still exist.

Pretty much. You see these sort of results towards the end of every season. Why wouldn't the tigers be doing everything they can training wise to make sure they are prepared for Sept. Hardwick knows what's going on. Hints at it in his presser.

I reckon you will see a different Essendon*** next week as they come off their little training booster. Hopefully they are " geared "
to " peak " the weak after next.

Port are not in a position to mess around with their training loads. They need every win.

I have always said that but you have to start from a reasonably solid base and not all clubs have that. For us, it depends on what you define as a (complete) rebuild. We most likely won't be winning a GF with Judd and Waite so you might as well refer to whatever transpires as a rebuild. No one is suggesting tanking so I don't know what point some posters are trying to make.

I also wouldn't give Rogers' 2012 the stamp of approval just yet and so far it's just an influx of two players. Even Hughes has probably had a year in which two first year players debuted. It's hardly earth shattering list building. You also have to work out where your priorities are. Are you in it for success or for show?

Yesterday was a good win, but let's not get too carried away. They had a much younger side in than we did. So we should have won, but normally we should have been expecting to win that game by 6 goals plus.

My favourite bit was when they were peeing themselves in delight after kicking their 3 goal in the 1st. It was at this point I knew my money was safe.
