O agree what Lyon has to say about Kreuzer.
We all know he's super competitive...but that makes up for his shortfalls? Nup.
For Big Kahuna it does...Kreuzer needs to break the mould he's in.
He needs to start marking like ruckmen do.
He needs to kick more goals than he does, so his kicking needs to straighten up and hold his marks to give himself an opportunity.
I have a good feeling about Kreuzer's future, but atm I'm pretty disappointed in him, but because Warnock and Hampson have turned out to be duds we have no other ruckman to turn to other than Kreuzer, hence why he's "untouchable"?
..i'll grade everyone fairly, and objectively.. ..let's take a look at what you call Krooz's shortcomings, and see how they actually measure up.. ..and remember with Krooz's avg's this year there's the cats game where he got injured very early that will skew the avgs a little, so his avg stats are a fraction better than listed..
..you think he needs to start marking like ruckmen do.. ..this i'm especially interested in.. ..in regards to marks per game, the best for avg marks this season is Cox with 5.1, the worst is Giles with 1.2.. ..Krooz avg's 3.6, others allegedly better than him are Minson 1.6, Goldy 3.2, Jacobs 3.3, Pike 3, Leuey 3.3, Jamar 2.3, Mummy 2.5 and NicNat 2.7..
..supposedly Krooz isn't a good enough contested mark.. ..again, let's take a look at him and some of the others talked up as being stronger in their marking ability.. ..Krooz avg's 1.3 contested marks per game.. ..Minson 0.8, Goldy 0.9, Jacobs 0.7.. ..Leuey 0.8, Jamar 1.1, Mummy 1.1, Maric 0.8, Ryder 1.1, Jolly 1..
..isn't as dangerous as other rucks up fwd.. ..ok, we'll again look at his marking inside 50, and also his goal kicking ability.. ..Krooz avg's 1.4 marks inside 50.. ..the only peers that are around the same are Bellchambers with 1.7 and Hale with 1.5.. ..his peers avg's for marks inside 50 are Minson 0.2, Goldy 0.2, Jacobs 0.2, Cox 0.9.. ..Pike 1.1, Leuey 0.4, Giles 0.1, Jamar 0.2, McEvoy 0.3, Mummy 0.5.. ..Maric 0.5, Ryder 0.5, NicNat 0.8, Jolly 0.6..
..his goal kicking ability is avg across the peer group, but he can do better as the high behinds attest to [in regards to him having the opportunity, but not converting], with his marking fwd and crumbing ability he gets plenty of shots on goal, it's just he went thru a few games where he had the yips, not something that is usual with him.. ..we know he can do better in this regard, all players go thru periods where they may be a bit off their game in some aspect, it's not a case of him not being capable however..
..the thing is, i seriously believe everyone either expects far too much of Krooz, or they think other rucks are doing it a lot better.. ..i belie e Krooz can still get better, i think ppl dont realise the setback of that ACL, and the fact that he's still quite young for a ruck, not long 24 with a blown knee during that period.. ..he's 22/23 in ruck years due to the setback, he's doing very well.. ..100 games already for a ruckman so young that's blown a knee out [badly].. ..it's actually a very good return, but ppl see the number 1 tag and gods only know what they expect so quickly for a tall..
..seriously, look at other rucks and kpps, and show me who's done better than krooz by his age and keep in mind the blown knee.. ..even without the blown knee he's in very good company..
