Am I the only one around here who thought Kade Simpson had a good game?

I thought he was better, did he played in back pocket or HBF tonight?

Simmo obviously still not in top form but I loved some of his desperation when the game was on the line. Really threw himself at the contest a few times. He'll be right. He'll play himself back in to form. A few easier wins with some free outside ball would be great for his confidence

If Simmo plays with that kind of heart.. he will be back in form real soon....

But id keep him in the backline
Agile.. good overhead and a good penetrating kick when in the groove

 who'd have thought

Has anyone suggested playing more midfielder types in the backline over the last 6 months?

Was thinking the same Synners. A genuine ruck, and he actually looked ok around the ground too (better than last year). Hammer did ok too by taking a fair few contested marks and bringing it to ground a number of times.

Just still cannot believe how bad the umpiring was. They could get away with murder time and time again. but as soon as we infringed (no matter how small)......ping !!!

Great to see Brock have a good one, and Eliza's bro a great "run with" job

Whataout the big man Warnock..... best ruckman we have... did ok against the best ruckman i have ever seen AGAIN!!!..... and the small to medium sized forwards doing the damage?( Out Hampson in Kreuzer)

Warnock needs to be number 1 banana in the ruck!!!

Needs to back it up now with a strong game next week against Jacobs. Continuity has been a big issue with him....

As a ruckman. Not in the forward line though

Warnock is number 1 ruck around here... i hope this drove it home.. and K is a much better player to have on the ground than Hampson.. Hammer does a couple of good things... and alot of shit things...

There is a football ledger!!!.... people shoud keep note of it...

Point is, Warnock and Hampson won't be competing for the same spot. Warnock and Kreuzer will compete for number 1 ruck spot, and hammer and Kreuzer will compete for the forward / 2nd ruck spot.

But yes, I agree we look a lot better with Warnock in the ruck. It's a shame Kreuzer hasn't shown more up forward as I thought he might early in his career

Could have sworn Priddis did a 720 at one stage before handballing to a teammate.

Battle of the Titans.

Warnock will be tall...Jacobs needs to jump in the last quarter..

Its not just the attacking its also being able to keep up on the oppositions fast breaks. That and sure hands and general nimbleness.
They all push up and scored goals or at least had shots. Plenty of inside 50's too.
Malthouse was talking about it after the game so hopefully he sticks with it. Should have read posts on here pre season and he would have a couple more wins to his name.

Saw that although it may have been a 360x3....

Dropping chest marks and turning the ball over.

Absolutely thrilled with the game though

For a senior player has been very disappointing.

..great game, more team orientated play and it's what we make us much better.. ..awesome protection for yazz running into goal..

....in regards to Knockers, for a guy playing 1st ruck, he only managed a few extra hitouts compared to hampson.. ..had less disposals, marks, 1%s.. ..basically, he had a decent game nothing special however.. ..i dont think he's a straight up superior tap ruck.. ..he's better at negating the opposite ruckman in he taps, but he rarely dominates hitouts and doest have a high hitout to advanatge ration..so i think he's extra height seduces ppl.. ..but he doesnt use his height anywhere near enough.. ..he does have a month to put his case fwd..

I liked the way that we won without Judd or Simmo having big games, and no Betts, Waite & Kreuzer, with lesser lights like Curnow, Tuohy, Armfield, White (first half) really playing their roles...

Was a good win tonight. It reminded me of our win over Fremantle last year. Ugly but needed the 4 points desperately.

Our small forwards have been great this year and are pretty exciting to watch.

Rowe looked good early but lacks fitness, which is understandable given his illness. Well done though.

We lack composure at times and luckily it didn't cost us tonight. Hopefully, this is a confidence boost for the side and we can string a few wins together.

Also won with not a lot of impact from both Judd and Murphy. Malthouse would have enjoyed this aspect of the win.

So.........maybe Gibbs is actually a classy HBF who drifts fwd occasionally to score, rather a mid fielder ?

Starting to look that way for mine. Not such a bad thing, but just means we need to get some more mids.
