Need to get structure rights and cut our losses on some players.
B: Collins Jamison Laidler
HB: Walker White Scotland
C: Gibbs Tuohy Yarran
Foll: Warnock Judd Murphy
HF: Garlett Henderson Robinson
F: Betts Casboult Rowe
Int: Bell Carrazzo McLean Ellard
White at CHB releasing Hendo fwd. Laidler as third man up and assisting.
Davies stays if Laidler doesn't come in. Was solid last night and did his role well.
Collins tried as small defender. He will put his head over ball and does create run. I see Temay filling that role when ready.
Jamo on Kennedy, White on Darling. McCarthy on Kennedy would be interesting?
IMO Walker is a gun defender who can pinch hit forward when needed.
Yarran needs to play up ground and work hard as a creative midfielder. It's time to step up. Too many skills not to. I believe Betts may play this week.
Tuohy on the ball with Bell, McLean and Ellard doing hard grunt work and increasing tackle pressure. Lucas is improving but needs to work on defensive side. It is poor.
Without Waite, Casboult comes in. No other real option. May enjoy space of subiaco. The other option is too play McCarthy or Watson at CHB and have White up forward. At least he leads to right spots and Rowe can be big man in square.
Simpson out for me. Been great but struggling since breaking jaw. Needs to go and get confidence back if he can.
If Gibbs injured Buckley stays. Only question on Buckley is engine. Seems to play mainly as small fwd and we have heaps of them. Can he develop into a mid, because he has the skills.
If tagging use Ellard. Carrazzo is a ball magnet and needs to play offensively and be creative.
Lots of midfield rotations to keep pressure up and create run. Some real size around ball which we ate lacking.
With space of Subiaco we also have forwards who can lead to right spaces.
Better kicking side.
Long shot? Cachia to come in as a tagger.
Over the next few weeks we will hopefully look at adding Waite, Graham, Temay, Menzel, McCarthy, Bootsma, OKeefe, Dale to that side.
Interesting take. Collins has I think just come back into the 2s and I doubt is ready for the 1s let alone asking him to do a role down back. Perhaps give a run down back in the 2s and if that goes well perhaps, but not this week for me. Laidler back is a fair call, personally I'd give him another week in the 2s as a forward to see how that goes. White in is a move i''d support. I'd count myself a Tuohy fan but I wouldn't have him in the centre with Bell Carrazzo Ellard and Mclean on the bench. Hendo forward is great as long as we can cover his absence down back and I am not sure we can. Your side has only 1 KD in Jamo with White Walker and Laidler as really 3rd tall types and you have 3 genuinely big men forward - Cas, Rowe and Hendo. Switch 1 of the 3 big forwards (not Cas) for 1 of the 3 third tall defenders and I think the balance is better. Remember WCE are likely to rest a ruckman forward as well as having Kennedy and Darling, you need at least 2 big bodies down back. I'd be keeping Hammer before Cas given the indifferent reports on Cas in the 2s and his previous 2 weeks. Hammer was good in round 1 but ofr his kicking in difficult conditions and round 3 can be excused
as he didn't look recovered from his op. Of course, if he isn't properly recovered then let him rest and possibly Casboult become necessary then. The alternative is to leave Warnock out again and ruck Hammer if he's fit with back-up from Rowe and/or Casboult, but Warnock has the recent form to justify selection, certainly ahead of Cas (unless judging primarilly as a forward). Can understand the call to drop Simmo and Buckley but I'm more inclined to give each another week, for diffefrent reasons. And if Eddie is right he is an automatic in and someone has to go for him.
