If we are 0 wins 10 losses then it will be panic time
But I think we will be 5 and 5 by round 10, with a noticeably different team to 2012.
Whatever marketing strategy/ media circus that the admin cooked up preseason to sell memberships, this year was always going to be about restructuring and adjusting.
We just have to keep faith that it will be more like when Ross Lyon took over Freo, and not an endless revolving door rabble ala Terry Wallace / Greg Miller.
I think it's too much of a stretch to claim that Mick should have been able to assess individual players on our list during his time as commentator to the point where he could come in and instantly sack or trade players. In reality he would have needed to trust that the footy department had a sound idea of what changes needed to be made initially. Next year he will have much more influence more than likely.
Don't forget there have been some pretty significant list decisions made recently that TC'ers have been howling out for.
JR - gone.
Bower - gone.
The key thing to remember is that we have a new footy manager and essentially a new recruiter.
A lot is changing - MM isn't the only new variable.
The key is to all work together in sync to gradually strengthen the list, the culture and the results.
So he’s not as good as his reputation, his expectations or his pay cheque?
Anyone can use that excuse when coming into a new club, but that usually means taking over a club that is bottom 2-3 and hasn’t played finals for years. He’s got a list of 40 to work with (relatively injury free at the moment).
He has a competitive list. Not the most talented, not the toughest, not the oldest and not the youngest. It’s up to him to get them to play and win and not against the mediocre sides or once in a blue moon but now.
He’s not new at coaching and coached against these players for years and if you had listen to his commentary last year you would be of the same belief.
We agree on the end outcome but just not the interpretation or time frame.
